ropeofsilicon.com lists BSG 2.5 in stores on September 19th.

Included will be an extended version of "Pegasus."

Anyone hear whether they'll release Season 2 in its entirety? I guess by releasing 2.5, the answer is probably "not yet". Otherwise they'd be cutting into their 2.5 sales.

Darn them.

yeah that seems the trend this day and age between partial season releases and new and improved versions of the same DVD over and over again...

I know I was really P.O.'d when they released the european verion first. Then released the US version months later.

Yeah, since they are doing 2.5, then I doubt a complete S-2 release.

Also, by selling half seasons, they probably make more money in total sales.

Stargate was released in half-season sets too. Did they also release full-season versions? I did not buy 2.0 in anticipation of a complete S2 set.

I only bought the first season of Stargate in individual disks, the rest I got in complete seasons.

Most Sci-Fi programing is released in partial season sets.

Then later you can get the whole season (usually just the parts packaged together)

Do a search on Amazon sometime for SG1 and see all the different combinations there are there.

Andromeda is the same way.
Lot harder to find full seasons though.

Yep, August for the Season 2.0 set in Europe (Reg 2). We didn't get the half set in the shops.

In the U.S., 2.0 was the first half of season 2, and 2.5 is the second half. Any announcement yet for the European release of 2.5?

I grabbed this Tues, and even though I hate this half-season release crap it's not a bad set. Apparently Moore & co had some real problems keeping episodes under time in the second season, the expanded version of "Pegasus" is an improvement over the broadcast version. Besides the aded length, it's significantly darker, the network requested the scene where the chief and Helo rescue Boomer be seriously trimmed. A lot of the scenes that were trimmed for time on the various episodes are pretty interesting and shed light on what's going on. And Moore does a great job on the commentary and podcast.

Of interest to modeller, there's some great shots of the full sized mock-up Mark II and Mark VII Vipers in the "sex, lies, and videoblog" section of the extras.

I'll sure be glad when the new episodes start!

Rest of the World - ie. Europe, Oceania (Aussie and NZ) got Season 2.0 as a six disc set. With the extended version of Pegasus. Five discs with four episodes per disc, and the sixth disc has deleted scenes.

Why would we be needing 2.5?

Cheers!
