I have an 8 hp Horizontal Techumseh. I starts and runs 10 sec. and stalls.
It will run on carb cleaner etc. Appears to starve for fuel? Yet I doubt the carb fuel bowl is emptied this quickly.

Main jet is super clean and new. Once before I had a tiny leak in the intake manifold and that one was vexing to be sure. I don't see how that could have reoccured.

Any ideas on things to try? 5 hours on this one today was a bit much!!

Many thanks,
Ernie

not geting fuel.

In between the threads of the bowl nut there's an itsy bitsy hole that has to be clear and clear from top down to the hole too.And while your there anyway run a wire through the emission tubes (in the hole that this nut screws in) also.

Is the float adjusted properly? When the carburetor is inverted the float should have a slight down angle.
Is the bowl installed properly?
There`s a deep side and a shallow side on the bottom of the bowl. The shallow side should be installed under the float hinges.
