More info to come but as of now you just need to know that the racing will be fast. If you like speed, This is the track to be at. Can anyone in the area really miss this race?

Remember, Racers in the adjoining regions have to have the approval of their and the region four directors to participate but it's open to all.

Foam tires only, Any make and compound but RC4LESS are faster( )
up to 3800 mah's batts but no IP's please(track rules) 4 cells in all classes
Stock car bodies only.
Roar stock and 19t motor rules with the exceptioon that the purple enbell stocks and 19t's are legal for this race, No confusion
I believe but don't make the rules that any brushless motor is legal in open mod this time. Who has the nads to try the new low wind motors on this track?

The Novak Velociti 4.5 is supposed to be comparable to a 6 to 7 turn and I see they were testing a 3.5 at the worlds. I can get my hands on a 4.5 so I may try one out before the race. The fastest lap turned in competition sofar here is a 5.8 with a 19t by Tom Pedano. Tony Padilla hit a 5.2 during the speed run last year, Can that be beaten? Ifso, Will the car have any tires left on it after a four minute run? We'll see:eek:

Hmm, It's been brought up that brushless motor systems, Although ROAR legal in Open mod touring cars may not be in Oval open mod racing. Anyone care to elaborate?

How can the local rules on batteries supersede the ROAR rules for any class. I would understand for a class that is track promoters special but all classes?

I wasn't informed about the batteries when I made up the flyer (remember, this is my first time doing a regional race),so I went on the ROAR website & found the following:

ROAR Approved Battery List

All currently approved batteries are included in the table below

IP IP3800SC Red w/White & Silver Shrink 10-1-2005

The table of approved batteries can be found here: http://roarracing.com/approvals/sbattery.php

Our local track rules do not permit the IP cells due to a local vote, but I'll change that on the flyer to permit these cells, since this is a ROAR sanctioned race. Thanks for pointing that out!

No problem, thanks for being open minded. Hope to make the race, but is the week after the Nationals in TN, but we will try to make it.

OK guys & girlz: in light of the recent rantings that almost everybody has seen posted thus far about the region race (and my ever growing headache & disappearing sanity!),I have come to the final conclusion, after talking to Mr. Fraden & a Hobby World staff member, that the Region 4 Oval Championship race @ Hobby World on Aug 19-20 will be cancelled.

My thanks goes to all who has supported me in this decision.

That is a real bummer! Sorry the decision went this way!

I believe we listen to way too many whiners in this hobby and make decisions that effect everyone based on the negative input of just a few.

Oh, well! Decision is made!

Not so quick Bob, Looks like there may still be a single day race here on Saturday August 19th, Just not the ROAR regional. It's been shown time and again that races with up to and more than 100 racers can be run in a single day here in Florida and I believe we can still do it, and have a great time while doing it. Stay tuned for developemnts on the Hobby World thread. Arrrrrrrr

Dave & George: If you guys make something work....we will come for sure!

Just am sorry that George had to jump through so many hoops and take so much crap.......wonder if it's unique to our region?

Thanks

Bob
