When these Ertl 1/18ths came out, I started collecting them like crazy. Too crazy. I was going after all the limited additions. When my collection got 'round 150 cars, I largely sold out. Good thing too, cause the market tanked shortly after. Lotsa cars I sold for like $60-$70 a piece can be repurchased off Ebay for $20!!! Anyway, I only saved my favorites. And as such, I held on to the Yenko Camaro and Mustang Twister special.

I think the first Ertl I bought was the orange boss 429 Mustang. I no longer have it since I sold it in a group of six cars that paid for my real car, a $250 Buick Regal that I still have. But I kept my favorite early issue, the Cranberry Red LS-6. Pure blue-collar muscle at its best!!

I believe that I still have the orange BOSS 429 Mustang packed away somewhere. Didn't it come out in the early 90's?

I never bought the red LS-6 Chevelle.

Is there some kind of variation in the red LS-6 Chevelle? (one being a 4 speed, and one being an automatic)

There was a difference now that you mention it. Was it four speed or auto, or was it Bench seats or buckets??? I can't remember for sure. The red LS-6 is the only Chevelle I kept, so I can't compare.

Glad to see you hung on to a few. I have most of mine in storage. I don't have the space to display them all, but I can't bear to part with them. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c107/boondocksaint979/emoticons/sleep.gif

I can't remember the difference either. I remember a diecast dealer wanting more money for the variation that I don't have, but I can't remember what the variation was.

That '70 Mach 1 is a sweet casting! I want to find a black '71 Mach 1 (not a Boss) in 1:24 or 1:18.
