turbo 35bl-most are rated to 5000 or 5500 mah's.gfx, ice charger, much more charger, orion etc. Most chargers that have come out in the past couple years are rated much higher than the current cells we have now.

From my understanding the Turbo 30 indy car, will only charge upto 3800, even with the upgraded chip.

Nobody has said a thing a bout the duratrax "ICE". This thing is pretty amazing. It will charge anything that you can throw at it!! Nicads, Nimh, and Lipo's,ect.... 1 cell eight cells, whatever. It will graph, motor run, step charge ect.... All I'm saying is that that r/c car action magazine must have named it charger of the year for a reason. The only thing that I can say bad about them is the screen was hard to read at night. I installed a light kit, and it's all good!!!

Can you give me some details on the light kit installation? I contacted the eBay seller of these to see if I could get the instructions to see what was involved and he wanted me to pay to see the instructions to see if I wanted to buy his product.

dont forget the lrp pulsar 2 only 159 on tower hobbies and then they take $20 off orders of 140 + so u git it for 139. And it is backlight charger discharger motor. I think right now its the best buy. Figure ice is 120 new then 30 for backlight plus then u gotta open the charger up and install it.

Last weekend< I saw a new charger, believe it was called a Spintech, it is a tray charger that charges each cell individually. Does anyone have info on who the manufacturer is and where they can be purchased. I expect it to be big $$$.

The Spintec is a good idea, but this weekend I got to see one first hand. What I noticed was that the cells stop charging within 15 seconds of each other, and were 99 plus percent matched on charge time. I can't see that 15 seconds making that big of a deal. If your cells in a pack are peaking 200 or 300 seconds apart, then the discharge side of things is going to be way off also. You would have probally already moved that pack to a pratice pack and replaced it with a new fresh matched pack that will peak within 15 seconds of each other. Just my opion, I won't be buying one.

Sure! I'VE done two of them. It all depends on your mechanical skills. I would think that if you wrench on your car from week to week that anyone could do this. First you have to take apart the "ice". Just remember what screws went where (The two long ones go through the fan.). Next, you pull out the LCD screen and pull off the reflective backing off of the back of the screen (Now this is the most nerve racking.). The screen is three pieces of glass. If you break any of them, your buying a screen. Also, when your pulling off the silver reflective backing be sure not to pull off the black solar backing. If this happens, you will not be able to see the numbers on the screen. Next, clean the screen. I skiped this part on one of them and it dosent look as good as the other. Next you have to solder the power supply kit to a power source, and install it. Place the screen and the backlight kit into the face plate and give the a test run. If everything looks okay, put it all back together. nothing to it!! :D The first one took about 45 minutes. The next one took half that.

What amperage and cutback is optimal for 4200's?

Also will putting them on a zero30 tray for a couple seconds work before charging ?

Is everybody using 35 amps after a run ? or a lower discharge rate?

Hey Mike,

Ive noticed that on newer packs. But packs that are a few months old seem to drift apart more on charge time. Since using this charger all of my cells are still staying close on charge time....when normally they would fall off a little with normal chargers.

Another thing is you should NEVER vent a cell on it since it will cut that cell off before it gets to hot. That is what's causing the cells to vent. Overcharging them.

Ive got one and love it. I noticed a difference in runtime on my packs at the nats last week. I started coming back with more runtime when I used it over a Pitbull. I also noticed that the car ran the numbers deeper into the run and didnt fade as much. Could just be me....but I like it.
