I am looking into racing ELECTRIC Touring on outdoor asphalt and need to know what kit to buy. The ones running in this area in popular order are Corally, XRay, Associated, Schumacher, others....

I will mostly run stock class stuff.... not much mod stuff for a while. WHICH CAR DO YOU RECOMMEND? Along with that.... Any other equipment suggestions are welcomed as well!

Thank
Ryan

my opion is bia's but i say YOKOMO.but if i was you i would go with the one that most people at your track is running.first, set up wise it helps to be able to go to different people for set up help and idea's.second, there will be a better chance of getting a part if you need it and your LHS dosent have it.

I agree with that. Have you, yourself seen or even heard of the RDX from Corally?

I would look to see what cars and parts are carried/supported at the local hobby shop, Nothing is more frustrating to have a super exotic car and have to wait for UPS to deliver parts. For that reason alone, Associated and Losi probably sell more kits because of their parts network.

If you have no price limit and you dont mind waiting for parts to diliver to your house or lhs. then I would get some super touring car like the new xray t2 (although I tend to shy away from twin deck carbon cars on anything but carpet) but if you are woried about price and avalability then I would go with the tc4. I currently own a xxx-s and even though its an American made tourer its realy hard for me to get parts. buy my lhs has enogh parts on his wall to build 5 tc4s and if I had it to do over again I think that I would get a tc4 because I have the realy nice g+ version and the tc4 only ways like one or two ounces more than mine. so weight is definately not a factor. so if there is no limit to price then I would try out The ft tc4 or the jrx-s. and my third choice would be a t2. but if you are on a spending limit get the normal tc4 and upgrade later.

to be honest the LHS here is building a track to race on-road cars.... should be done in a few months. The owner runs a RDX and carries all parts for it. The US Importer for Corally is semi local to me as well (Orlando, FL). So I DID check into parts... seems that Associated and Losi DO have the market on parts..... but the cars here are not popular for the on-road tracks. Though I am sure all of them are good cars.
What price should I expect for a Losi Touring 4wd kit?

the corally rdx is a very nice touring car, but for the money and the cost to replace parts is the downfall, (I have also heard corally rdx brakes pretty easy, I have heard that from people who run them and who runs for them) so really my opinion would be get the xray T2 it is also a VERY nice tc. but if your lhs has all the parts for the corally and you want to spend the money go with the rdx
hope this helps

whell I always buy my kits from stormer because they have the best deals on cars and I think they currently want about 300 some dolars https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/seekpart.pl?src=ns&pn=LOS0255

The next place I would check for good car kit prices is losi parts house. The prices there are very good. they currently want 319 for the car. and that is outstanding for the jrx-s http://www.losipartshouse.com/servlet/Categories

But in general I would expect to pay somewhere in the ball park of 340 anything below that is a good price.

I still say xray is the way to go but, darkscope001 makes a very very good point, xray is sometimes very hard to get parts for, either to your home, and working at a hobby store I know it is hard to get parts in from xray,,,,,, I would look at your lhs and see what parts they carrie parts for and also what other people run, that way if you need help with something (setup, etc.) you will have somebody to ask if you need help,

like I said before, if your lhs carries parts for corally and somepeople run it,and you dont mind spending some money,,,heck go with the rdx
