I hate to be blindsided, because a vast majority are running different rules!! ARCOR is your organization. It may be hard for some of you to fanthom, but that is the way ARCOR was originally set up. ARCOR expects changes to be made and if the majority are doing it and all agree to it, then it needs to be incorporated into the rules. Printed material on paper, like rule books, are made to be changed. A racer should'nt have to contact me to find out if he can run X,Y or Z in any class, be it electric or gas, because he is running a different rule in a totally different series, class, organization or whatever. ARCOR has tried from the get go, to make R/C racing uniform, from City to City, County to County, State to State, Region to Region..NATION WIDE!!!
When you go off on your own, don't consult, don't petiton, or just ignore an organizations rules, your leave yourself wide open to the discrepancies we have been discussing here.
We have been discussing here, what a racer asked, as simple question, that turned into a major issue. Sometimes there is no simple yes or no answer, especialy when those envolved are not on the same page. All ARCOR wants to see is everyone, be it electric or nitro, be on the same page.
When a race is annonced, it is "inviting" others to attend, otherwise, there would be no reason to post about your local track/club or organized event. In many instances, there are to many different classe/rules, and those that might attend an event, stay home because the rules are different. What can't many of your understand about a uniform set of rules, NATIONWIDE?
One only has to look at the number of posts to realize, oval is more active with racrs and their concerns, than any other form of R/C racing. Sponsorship is not a factor, as all forms of R/C racing has their fair share (and then some)of sponsorship.
Now that I have said my long salutatory, I again bring attention to the Nitro racers. These are the rules that are in the 2006 Rule Book (which has been adjusted for the Mod racers and the muffler debate). What else needs to be changed??
All .09 NITRO STOCK RULES APPLY TO THE .09 MODIFIED CLASS WITH THESE EXCEPTIONS:
1. Any capped tire combination
2. Any gearing, not to be determined by the track
3. ARCOR approved stinger for .09 Modified Class
4. Muffler intake may be enlarged.
5. Exhaust extender is NOT required
