Hey guys I just have a few questions about random rc stuff

First I have a xxx-s G+ and it is powerd by a monster stock. every time I pull it off the track the motor is extreemly hot. I am already undergeard to what the manual says. but the motor is still realy hot. I am not buring up brushes or anything but I would feel beter If i could get the motor to run cooler. Also I have looked at Phariswheels motor cooler and thought about trying something similar. and I am going to be purchesing a clip on heat sink the next time I make an order to tower.

My next question is mainly about grease. I have been told that silicone grease is great for building ball diffs (not the tl or associated grease) and that moly grease I the stuff to use when building thrust bearings. also I have been told that noleen grease is good to use when building shocks. can anyone tell me of a store that sells all three of these items the noleen, moly, and silicone. or atleast a store that has a good price on the noleen. ive ben looking for that stuff forever.

THanks
Sean Scott :)

When was the last time your motor was rebuilt? Make sure you bushings are well lubed. What type of speed controller and conectors are you using. You might get a temp gun and see what the actual temp is . Have you had the comm cut?
You might try a that and some new brushes after a good break in.

yeah keep up the maintence on your motors, cut the comm, lube it up properly etc. like tamiya said, a fast motor will run hot no matter what you do,**now saying that make sure you are not running to hot, yeah get some new brushes cutt the comm, lube it up break it in and try from there,
Hope this helps,

Yes I do cut my own motors, I am avid in this hobby. how bout 2000 dolars avid. so I was just wondering what temps. cuz I cut my motors ever other weekend since my track is falling apart and the motors dont need crazy performance. but yes I do shim my motors. cut them. change out the springs. clean them every time the motor is cut. break in my motor and bushings so that is not the problem. what the problem is is that I am not used to the heat that these motors are producing. back when I used to race off road the motors would come off the track pretty cool, not all togeather that hot. so I just want to know what acceptable temp ranges for a stock motor is (in degrese) also does anyone know where to get the other stuff I was looking for.

THANKS
Sean Scott

P.S. I dont need to know where to get silicone grease anymore I found my tube.

Only 2K? Lightweight! LOL!

Motors in sedans will run hotter than off road, they use more torque & have less breathing room inside the shell. It's just they way it is.

Thanks. But do you have any suggestions on how I can bring the heat down. I want to get a heat sink but tower was out of the one I wanted when I placed my last order. Also I saw phariswheel was using a computer cpu cooling fan. and from the pics he got his motor down to like 30 some deg. Just no Ice or upside down compressed air suggestions please.

Thanks
