I apologize. I'm brand new here and just wanted to ask a question. Where SHOULD I post a general question at?

That is a reasonable general question... and this is the only place really for general questions... The only problem is, that to my knowlege no one that frequents this forum pays much attention to RC cars sold at department stores...

To further add to a reasonable response to you... It might be good to ask how much you're planning on spending for a RC car? The reason know one here pays attention to department store RC products, is generaly because they are vastly inferrior to a hobby/race level RC car. If we knew your budget we might be able to suggest a much more dependable RC car that you could actualy get parts for if it should ever break...

Seriously spending much money on a department store RC car is something close to just burning your money... Now, maybe there is no hobby grade RC car in your price range, but then maybe there is... and if your not quite there yet, you still might be better off to save your money till you can afford a quality RC car from a hobby store, etc...

Yeah, I know all about bad moods... :) It's good to try and avoid them.

I just know from my days as a kid, or even as a young man how disapointed I could get with a deparment store RC car. Seems like you'd be lucky to get a weeks worth of use from one before some significant part broke and then no where to get parts, etc... Given that this hobby can use all the new people it can get, it's important to keep things in perspective and know that we all probably didn't start out knowing the differance between a good car and a cheap car....

Money isn't an issue. A friend had asked me if I could find an answer to his question as he collects the cheap crappy hot wheels for his son, and I made the mistake of posting my question in the wrong forum. Sorry to have wasted your time.

the main reason to avoid the d store type of cars also is that should something brake it's very hard to get replacement parts. it's also never a waste of time for a newbie to ask a question on this forum, you will normally get an answer that could help steer you the right way. i know many of us have wasted our money on the d store type of cars and we are now trying to keep newbies from wasting there money as we already have. also hotwheels always have been and always will be way cool. best of luck al

HobbyTalk....................................... radioshack, walmart, kmart brands like NIKKO and TYCO are not hobby level cars. Look in the yellow pages for a local hobbyshop near you. Look for team losi, team associated, traxxas, duratrax, tamiya (great for people just entering the hobby) my first car was a Tamiya Dirt Thrasher TA01. Another place to look for cars are in the buy/sell section on this site and on www.rctech.net // www.rcuniverse.com // also try ebay for great deals. But if you never really seen a real r/c car, go to your local hobbyshop for a better look. Hope This Helps. Danny

Does anyone really read the posts? The poor guy was asking about Hot Wheels and got confused and posted in the wrong forum. He stated he was asking about Hot Wheels in post 7 and there should have not any posts about RC after it. There are(Omigosh!) other hobbies beside RCing.

quackthis I apologize for my fellow RCers.

I also apologize for being the net police.

Hank, can you lock this so the poor guy can go in peace?
