Have been having some issues with my motor. I have the reedy ti geared at 18/86 in a xxxt with 766 brushes. I raced the other day and only got six laps in before the the motor just lost power and eventually came to a hault. I have been able to only get one run before having to re-cut the com. Is my gearing really far off? Accoring to losi they say to gear a 11 turn at 18/86. What is everyone else gearing at? I know gearing varies on track size and what not but to only get one run then have to re cut cause the motor won't even go...that seems extreme....running 3300 with a gtx..with a rebuilt diff and good driveline so there is no binding anywhere....

Is your truck a XXX-T or a XXX-T MF1, or a XXX-T MF2? The MF2 has a different gearbox ratio, so the recommended gearing is different. The MF2 is a 2.56:1 gearbox ratio, and the others are a 2.43:1 ratio. The MF1 manual suggests a 15/86 for an 11 turn modified. If you don't have an MF2 truck, you may be about 3 teeth overgeared according to the manual suggestions.
