I just got this from a guy that said he had parked it under a tree for about 2 years. I pulled the tank off and carb and cleaned them both up. the intake into the block was really dirty and the plug was wet like it possibly had water in it. I wouldnt dought it if it did. I did check the plug and it was dirty so I cleaned that up. When I tried to start it, it would make a popping noise but wouldnt fire up. I am at a loss. I think this is a newer type of motor and am just a little curious if it might be in the points or electronic ignition?
I would appreciate some input on this. I usually work on older model motors and this one is new to me.
thanks,
kyle

the marking on the deck are as follows: honda h21-5-df sdm model on the side of the motor are gv200-1119624
this unit has a drive unit to the back wheels and a lever to disengage the blade and then one to shut the unit down.
If you would like I can take a picture of this and email it to you.
I just dont know why it wont start. I am thinking it might be the spark plug but am not sure. when I put a little gas in it it would just pop and not turn over. the unit is not a ohv motor.
let me know where to look for information on this mower on the internet if you could please
thanks again,
Kyle

Was it running when he parked it? You didn't ask him if he hit anything did you? It can still have spark and a sheared flywheel key.

yea, he said that he had taken it in and had it all tuned up the year before. I took a look at it last night and I am not sure but I think it should still start without having the handles pulled back shouldnt it? They are really had to pull so that is why I am asking. Maybe the best thing to do on this is take it into a honda shop. I dont know much about these motors. I just figured that it would be a great unit if I got it running. I did try adding some fuel to the carb to see if maybe the carb was dirty but it still didnt want to kick over.

The handle bar lever should be pulled back.
