Same here.......didn't care fot the movies, but love the slots. A '70 Monte Carlo would be very cool.

The crazy production numbers were probably RC2's doing. The JL sets mostly had reasonable production limits.

I may be in the minority here ... but I'd really like to see another Fast & Furious release of the XTs with the cars in the F&F Tokyo Drift movie. (snip) Bring on those tuners!

I'm with you on this one AfxToo. Hear that Tom? Bring 'em on...

I feel the same way too. There needs to be more cars made that a younger audience will recognize. The BTCC, DTM and WTCC are all popular series with zero HO representation.

Then too there are series in the USA that are well followed and poorly represented. Why did no one fastrack a Danica Patrick set whilt the going was good last spring for example?

I agree. I think the F&F was my favorite release of the JL cars. I didn't like the cars in some of the earlier releases like the Chevelle where the wheels stick out past the body. They seem too out of proportion. (although probably true to scale). I also don't care for the releases that are a 12 car release with 6 cars but two color schemes each. Just call it a 6 car release. If the new F&F has 11 cars, then it is perfect for a set.

Wouldnt mind a '70 Monte. My brother had one in light green with a black vinyl top with a 454 under the hood.

I'd buy a Danica Patrick car if Tomy or Mattel would make one. Same goes for a Andretti set with, grandpa Mario, son Michael, son John, and grandson Marco. That would be very cool - the family affair set. I'd also love to see HO slot car renditions of the current crop of F1 cars. But there's always the licensing premiums.

It's too bad that these racing celebs don't cut some slack with licensing on low volume models like HO slot cars. The tiny amount of money they would lose (in relative terms) would be more than offset by the goodwill and new fan base they would help create if they would just lighten up a little on the licensing.

If I were Tom I'd try to strike up some sort of a deal with some of the NASCAR people to redirect some or all of their licensing fees for a series of cars to one of the charities, like Victory Junction Gang Camp. If I'm paying a premium on a slot car I'd rather see it going to a good cause instead of making the mega rich even richer. It would be a win-win situation for everyone involved, especially if Round2/AutoWorld got some on the air recognition.

I think Tom is trying to get the rights to do some real Nascar color-schemes so fingers crossed.
