i have a dell laptop with a 4 cell battery and was wondering if there is any way i can charge these batteries with my competition electronics gfx charger and get more battery life from them they only last about 10 mins on a full charge. i guess what im asking is if their is a way to condition the cells back to new condition. i have used this laptop for4 years pluged in to the wall and now i need it alot where i cant use 110 power. any info would be appreciated

It may be li-ion cells? If so it can be charged on a li-ion charger and then tested for capacity.

Dell has procedures on discharging/recharging your laptop cells. Also some systems come with a built in discharge cycle that is accessible through the system BIOS. Check your system's documentation as well as the documentation on the support pages.

try leaving the laptop on disconnected from the wall running on the battery until it shuts down, then recharge it fully with the computer off to completely cycle it. i have a compaq and thats what they told me to do with the battery every couple months just to completely cycle it.

That won't totally discharge the battery - the best thing to do is to attach a big 12v light bulb to it (test with a meter which two are v-out, the others will be charge sensing and temperature) and wait for it to totally discharge.
