im looking to buy a new amb system and on the site it only sells the personal transponders, i want to get regular transponders with the chargers cause i know there will be alot of newcommers racing and they arent gonna want to buy a 89.00 personal transponder? what can i do? thanks albie

I think AMb is trying to make it so you have to buy PT.. What i have seen some tracks doing is have a stash of PT's. they loan them out for the day.. I belive it is 5 bucks extra to use one.. Since the cost of the charging transponders was about the same thats prolly why.. either way it isnt cheap.. Your best bet would prolly be to try to find a used system in good shape..

maybe ill just have to buy 15 personal transponders then.. another question when i buy the ambrc system do i have to buy the amb software Sparc 2 or can i just buy jlap pro instead big difference in price... albie

No you don't have to buy Sparc.....

FYI: JLap would be the last scoring software I would get also......

we are a small club about half of us have transponder and half don't.

we have 4 loaners that get transfered between races.

were finding now the connecters are getting worn from the continued plugging and unpluging. I'm think of hooking up a small receiver pack with switch to each loner.

as for software we are using lapsfree

Albie search around a little more on the AMB site, I do believe there are 2 pages of products, look down at the bottom their page of products. I know they sell the rack & house transponders because we just replaced one of our AMBrc transponders for $115 thru them.

We have a rack of 20 house transponders because new racers rarely have a personal & most don't want to put out the money for a one when they are just getting started. Since we have been using this new system most of our racers are getting personals, I would say that more have them than not.
