THE HISTORY OF SCALEXTRIC DVD!
In the mid 1950's, Fred Francis, the maker of Scalex clockwork cars was in deepening financial troubles ... as his previously successful line of clockwork toys just weren't selling anymore. A visit to a toy fair provided the inspiration to transform his business. At the fair, he saw a toy roadway with cars driven by electric motors and instantly conceived the idea of installing electric motors into his racing cars and running them on slotted track, enabling individual car control.... which meant they could be RACED.
Scalex became Scalextric, and the legend was born!
