I'm a degreed meteorologist. I have a BS in Meteorology from the University of Lowell (MA) and an MS in Meteorology from Florida State University. I have earned the distinction of Certified Consulting Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society.
I work as an air quality meteorologist using computer programs to predict dispersion of air pollutants for different clients and reasons. Some need it for DEP/EPA permits. Some need it for Public Relations. Some need it to make business decisions.
I have an extensive library on Air Quality and collect antique meteorology texts as a hobby. I have one as early as 1894. If you know anything about the science, it's a fairly recent formal science. You won't find many educational texts dealing solely with meteorology before 1875 or so.
