Without much fanfare, CBS/Paramount video released a 3 DVD set under the Bilko 50th Anniversary title.
I can't begin to tell Bilko fans what a goldmine this is. The set contains 18 remastered episodes with incredible extras and special touches. Allan Melvin provides brief audio introductions to the episodes which look and sound awesome.
The extras include a recently unearthed Kinescope of the unseen pilot episode. That particular episode fetaures Jack Warden in the Henshaw role, Jimmy Little (Sgt. Grover) as the Chaplin and a different actor playing Colonel Hall. There are aslo Emmy award clips, audio commentaries, original TV intros and commercials, etc.
I can't hide my enthusiasm for the loving job that CBS/Paramount did with my favorite show. If you love Bilko, go buy this set!
