I just got the season one DVD "Boxed set."
Picture's fine, and the show's as funny as I remember. But enough about the show, let me comment about the packaging.

This is the worst "boxed set" packaging I've ever seen!

Each disk is in a separate old-fashioned (as it were) full-sized DVD case, with no insert booklet, and all six disk cases are then TAPED TOGETHER with 2" packing tape wrapped around them, and then shrink-wrapped. No overall slipcase.

:freak:

Who put this together, someone's 12-year-old nephew?!?!

I wonder if these guys had something to do with it?

That certainly qualifies as bizarre but I don't know if it qualifies as "worst".

There are a lot of boxed sets that have DVDs packed together in overlapping packages where a)the playing surface of one disc can rub against the artwork or playing surface of the second disc and b) in order to get one disc out, you have to remove the disc on top of it. I think those are the worst.

The F-Troop set just sounds weird. But a lot of guys would trade that overlapping digipack for separate cases any day.

The funny thing is, after all the plastic surgery, Larry Storch looks younger now than he did when the series was first-run. :freak:

Hey, somethin' funny is happenning.

F-Troop isn't officially released until tomorrow but I went to a big international retailer (HMV operates in the UK and Canada) and got my hands on the boxed set.

The set I handled had the six discs in three slimpacks. The slimpacks were in a proper sleeve with artwork. The plastic shrinkwrap had the "WB" watermark.

Okay, that's annoying! Mine wasn't a pirate copy, it came from DVDPlanet.com. :(

Brent, try the Miami Vice boxed sets. They're the overlapping type, but it's okay, because the discs are double-sided too. So it's playing surface-to-playing surface. :freak:
