I have a picture I want to print in four 8 1/2" x 11" parts.

The picture is 2.400,604 bites, and 11138 x 1182 pixels.

Does anyone know how I can do this.

I have Paint Shop Pro 7 if that's of any use.

Thanks,

James :)

Can you cut the picture into four pictures in Paint Shop Pro, then print each one?

Or send it out to a professional photo lab and they can print it as a single print. If you must print it on 8.5x11s, yes, split it into four separate files.

I don't know what kind of printer you're using, but check all your printer's dialog boxes for "tile" or "tiling" settings. With tiling, you can print a large image on two or more pages while specifying the layout, page orientation, and amount of image overlap between pages. The program used to create the original image is irrelevant.

I just checked my own printer's settings and it does have Tiling, which is currently off. It has 2x2 4 sheets, 3x3 9 sheets, 4x4 16 sheets, and 5x5 25 sheets. After playing around for a few seconds, I see I can apparently drop some of the sheets for printing purposes, so I might try it myself later on and see how it works out.

Thanks for the information.

Well, it almost worked. I tried the 2x2 using just the top 2 sheets, but it did not use the whole picture, just the top two quarters of the photograph, and on the two pages, the partial pictures had a white border around the parts of the picture it did print. I can see that if I created a picture which had the bottom two quarters as white space, that it would probably work.

How would you go about creating a tiling profile which is different from the options shown on the printer, or is this possible?

Thanks for the replies.

I checked on my Canon i850 printer but can't find that function. Unless I am not looking in the right place.

Trying to see if I can cut it in 4 in PSP7. Having trouvle getting the gridding to work right though.

.How would you go about creating a tiling profile which is different from the options shown on the printer, or is this possible?Every printer is different. I would need more specific info about the type of printer you're using and all the options that are available when you go to print your file. You could try your printer manufacturer's online tech support, although that probably won't be much help. Or just keep potchkeying with it, and you might hit the right settings by pure luck!

I'm not sure about version 7, but in the current version of Paint Shop, you can use the "Canvas Size" function. You can set the the exact size of each section, and what part of the picture to use.

Does your printer do banners? Some Epsons will take roll paper and print up to 44"

James :)James, if you still want to know how to do this, reply or send me a PM. I can give you a very simple workaround.
