I found a old bug bomb that i forgot i had ---- after studying it a while i notice the 2 front tires are redlines but the back is not??Did they have redlines also like hotwheels??bug is maroon and has some paint loss on top also missing the rear engine.May post it on the swap board.

your front tires were probably replaced at one time....here is my bug bomb:

That Bug Bomb actually looks kind of neat.

Redline tires were released on the 1969 model cars. In 1970 they continued to release 1969 castings with solid black tires as with all the other cars and redline tires were discontinued. I have some 1969 castings in BP with 1970 tires. The advertising on the back of the BP's also relates to the 1970 lineup.

FWIW

I have seen tires both redlines and blackwalls (with and w/o the Goodyear letters) on many Bug Bombs both in and out of the package.

Generally speaking, redlines came only on the first year cars, but residuals were used on many 70's cars.

Basically, it was whatever the employees could find, that it what tires they used.
