What affect does ride height have on a car. If you are 6mm front and 6.5mm rear what would happen if you change to 5mm and 5.5mm or some thing. I know if your front is lower it adds steering but as long as the proportions are the same what is the overall effect.

The center of gravity changes. The higher the cg tends to make the car roll more.

ive heard alot of fast racers say that the lower the better and faster. is that always true? and lets say you race at a very smooth track how low should you be?

Normally the lower the better without hitting the track. But I have been to low bite tracks were raising you CG has produce better bite and faster overall runs. Not faster single laps but faster over the race.

Or bite more on the side tires...keeps the vehicle from drifting - adds more surface friction to the tires increasing wear.
