Week four in the books and we have a new record holder in the Production class. We also got to see the first RC18Ts and I'm pretty impressed. If you ask me Assoc. did what the Mini-T should have been from the beginning. I guess that's what you get for sitting back and watching what the competition is making huh? :) A couple new faces around this week which is always nice and dangit all, I'm gonna win an A-main yet!!

rick amanda is running a 81 26..if i geared that high i think it would make my motor run even hotter..if my diff was to tight would it make it run hotter in my car..it seemed a little tight..let me know..thanks Randy

Well right now you are running an 7.85 overall ratio and Amandas is a 8.13. Higher the ratio, the slower you go or more appropriately, the more punch you have available. An 87/26 would put you right at the same ratio as her's but without an 87 the closest you are going to get is an 84/25 (8.16). If you have the gears available, give that a try and see what happens. I wouldn't really say a to tight diff would make the motor heat up more, it will just not allow the truck to go through turns as well. Try running the diff as loose as possible WITHOUT it actually slipping. Don't pull a Cook and have your diff squaking all the time. Like I told knoxville though........make sure everything is spinning free in your tranny and the wheel nuts aren't to tight. Any binding in the tranny will slow you down and heat the motor up more. Want to know one of the MAIN reasons Toms truck is SO fast? Have him spin over the wheels on his truck some time without a pinion on it. Smooth as silk. Mine isn't as smooth as his but I'm working on it!

Randy (gumby??): gearing and setup are an important part of going fast, but beyond that especially in production is a good tight, steady line and clean race. If you can avoid having to be marshalled on a small track like ours, it's almost like getting an extra lap. Don't be afraid to use your brakes when you have to, to stay out of trouble. Another thing that will help is having only enough steering dialed in to get you through the turns. When the turns are almost as long as the straights you don't want to loose any more speed turning than you have to. If all else fails, ask Amanda for a few pointers! :D

Besides, you guys are having too much fun "bumping & rubbing" to spoil it by getting too serious.

thanks kim..i need to hear that..actually i been doing good in hitting people..it the other people hitting me..puddin his on the back burner now..have to come up with a new one ..besides rubbing fenders cost to much money..ask covert..parts is parts..break them if you have them..thats what the production class saying... we hope to see ya sunday

So Randy, didn't get to ask you. How did the gearing work?

Week five over and done with and 4 new records to report. Amanda continues to show the way in the Production class. Who says girls can't race? A few new faces again this week. Still waiting for the 90 lap run. And after two weeks of broken truck, my luck finally changes. :)
