OvalmanPA 11-21-2004, 09:23 PM Not a bad first day to the new indoor season. Things went about the best they've ever gone for a first day race. It was good to see everyone again today other than there were a few regulars MIA. Where were you guys, last minute work? Seems like the new 5 minute racing went over rather well and I think everyone liked the new carpet, ripples and all. :) Looks like it might be a good year.

Knoxville 11-24-2004, 11:32 PM Racing was a good time Rick i just want to say thanks for getting me into electric its alot of fun  :D
EvaderAndy 11-25-2004, 09:59 AM Hey Rick,
Do you have an Evader gear cover? I thought I saw a couple at the shop. If you do how much and could you bring it to the track with you thanks.
OvalmanPA 11-25-2004, 04:14 PM Jeff.....glad you're enjoying yourself. There really is no replacement for actually racing against other people and without going a few hours away you really weren't going to find any competition here for 1/8 scale. You ran especially well for your first time on the track also.
Andy........yes I do have a couple of them. Can't remember on the price but I'll bring one with me this weekend.
Everybody have enough to eat? I know I did!! :freak:
Knoxville 11-26-2004, 12:51 AM thanks rick i really appreciate it its alot of fun though i do wish i still had my buggy for bashing casue that thing was fast as hell and i mean fast but racing is just as much fun as paintball i love it and will probally do it for the rest of my god given life
OvalmanPA 11-28-2004, 07:53 PM Another fun day of racing at RERCR&H, the track seems to be getting faster, and of course Production is getting more dangerous. :) Courtney Morse came smoking back onto the ozite for the first time this year and broke records in two classes. Production and Fun BuRP continue to be the two most popular classes. Points get started next week so we'll see how things shuffle out from here on out.

Knoxville 11-28-2004, 10:30 PM hey rick i was wondering if you are going to be having practice on tuesday night this week?? and another thing do u think the production class is going to be able to go back to 4 minutes i smoked a motor today  and jim cook fried his bad and pretty much everyone in production is for it. if we do go to four minutes will it just be the production class or will it be all the classes?? just wondering cause i know we have to vote but i just wanted and idea of how it would work!! good racing today guys c yall next week

Jcook 11-29-2004, 09:36 AM good racing today guys c yall next week
KNOXVILLE
Racing...is that what I was doing?....It felt more like murphy's law in action......lololol
OvalmanPA 11-29-2004, 07:59 PM Sorry no practice. I've decided to not have practice night this year. Last year we usually had 2-3 people every week which makes things "cost ineffective" so to speak. I can't see burning the lights and heating the place for that amount of people, sorry. :(
I don't mean to sound rotten or anything but you guys GOTTA gear down to not burn up motors in 5 minute races. If the drivetrain is free and you have things geared correctly, you shouldn't have a big problem. When some of you guys (not mentioning any names) start running 76 tooth spurs and 25-30 tooth pinions your motors aren't going to last long, even at 4 minutes. It's either gear the cars for longevity of motors and stay out of trouble or gear to run F A S T and spend $$$ all the time for new motors. As far as a change, we'll see but I'm looking more toward a blanket time change of either 4 or 5 minutes, whichever has more votes.
Jcook 11-29-2004, 09:01 PM Sorry no practice. I've decided to not have practice night this year.
I don't mean to sound rotten or anything but you guys GOTTA gear down to not burn up motors in 5 minute races.
What I can't practice murphy's law tues night...darn...
BTW - For the record book....brush hung on mine....and the diff misadjusted. Think I'm gonna go back to my trusty Tuned Sport motors.
Knoxville 11-29-2004, 09:09 PM ok..i guess i will have to gear down then..thats no problem..
im running an 84s and a 24p thats an 8.5-1 ratio any higher and a turtle could pass me lol what do u think i should gear it at??
Jcook 12-01-2004, 12:17 PM ok..i guess i will have to gear down then..thats no problem..

26 p / 86 sp
OvalmanPA 12-01-2004, 04:01 PM Actually, if you're running a MF2 you're presently running around a 8.96 (84/24*2.56) which doesn't seem like it should create that many problems. I'd look to make sure everything is spinning freely and nothing is binding. I'm going to try running a 86/24 this week with my stock truck (86/24*2.61=9.35) and might end up going up a tooth from there. Of course take into consideration that my tires are smaller than yours also which would result in a lower rollout number overall (more punch). There is more to going fast than speed by the way. :)
Knoxville 12-01-2004, 04:57 PM oh i did not know that the tranny ratio was different in an mf2 well that will explain some things :o i loosened up the diff casue it was a hair bit to tight im going to try what cook said an 86S and a 24 P oh and rick are we going to be voting on the 4 min thing b4 the race on sunday or after the race?? just wondering c-yall sunday
OvalmanPA 12-01-2004, 08:53 PM We'll be voting right before I set up the heats so I know whether I have to change anything or not. You can try a 86/26 but if your motor is cooking at a 8.96 it's going to be worse at 8.47. :(
Knoxville 12-01-2004, 09:05 PM well i will probally try both out on sunday morning b4 the race starts so i will have to see what happens but i loosend up my diff it was a smidge to tight to that could of been causing the heat problems idk we will find out sunday ttyl

Knoxville 12-02-2004, 11:18 AM hey guys i was wondering if anybody is interested in buying a mini-t it comes rtr with everything except a charger i have one 6 cell battery for it foam tires and dirt tires radio and esc of course comes with some misc spare parts im selling if for 120.00 obo if interested let me know
OvalmanPA 12-02-2004, 07:55 PM Let me guess...........got this from "Puddin'"? :)
canbquik 12-02-2004, 09:32 PM hey, check out the new Driver mag. , they have a great article on the new pro Evader, but look close at the tech. stuff, you may recognize some of the go gear......
Knoxville 12-02-2004, 10:43 PM yea i traded puddin a .22 rifle for it but i have to sell it cause i need the money!! even more i need a job :drunk:
OvalmanPA 12-03-2004, 06:50 PM Chris.......yep I noticed that. There was also a little "inside" look toward the back on the Twin Maxx packs. They did however get the phone # wrong.
OvalmanPA 12-05-2004, 09:23 PM Sorry guys, no results till Tuesday when I go back to the track. Floppy disks suck!
Knoxville........congrats on the win and track record. Must be you have things figured out with the truck even if the motor is pretty hot. :)
Knoxville 12-05-2004, 10:23 PM Thanks rick i really apprecitate it
I personally spoke with an editor at RC Driver about the incorrect phone number. They also listed the price incorrectly for the Twin Maxx Pacs in the Evader Pro test. The editor told me they would use the Twin Maxx Pacs for a test of the new twin motor Novak SC. Look for it in the February issue. Overall the editor told me they were very impressed with the SPC cells, quality of assembly and pricing.
Knoxville 12-06-2004, 11:16 AM hey Ovalman i got a question for ya. What do the numbers 5:03.84 mean and when u say he has got a 66.8flat lead or something like that what does it mean??? oh and SPC your batterys are GREAT they just helped me set a new Lap Record
OvalmanPA 12-06-2004, 08:47 PM 5:03.84 is your time - 5 minutes, 3 seconds, 84 hundreths. The closer to 5 minutes you run the better with high lap numbers. The rest of the question I'm not sure of but I'm assuming if I say perhaps someone is on a 66 in five flat pace that would mean they are running a 66 lap pace in 5:00.??. The computer has an area on the screen that predicts the leaders pace based on their lap times over the course of the race. Hope that helps?
sniff, sniff....what's that I smell burning? :D Joy said I can do whatever with that new T3 she won. Good thing it does have all those pretty blue parts on it, that's all that saved it! Whaddaya think it's worth? Best offer takes it -

Polli 12-07-2004, 12:53 AM Hey guys, how far into the afternoon/evening has the races been goin? Or what time has the A mains been startin? I'm not quite up to racing status yet(if I ever was, lol), but I've been wanting to stop up to say hi to all my brothers in wheels. but this will have to do for now, so Hello to all my brothers!
Knoxville 12-07-2004, 02:47 PM hey rick thanks u answered both questions now i know what u mean when u are saying all that stuff  thanks
OvalmanPA 12-07-2004, 07:51 PM K1M......new in the box it otta be worth $85-$100 at least. I imagine if Mike sees your post you'll be getting an email. :) I'd make you an offer but I already have enough bills to pay this month.
Polli............my man, how goes it?? We've been getting done before 5 this year so far. The days we have road course racers it takes a little longer because of the setup time but I believe when I looked at my watch this week it was 4:42 and it had been a few minutes since we got done. We had 21 people this week too.
knoxville.......no problem, glad to help.
OvalmanPA 12-07-2004, 07:58 PM Good week of racing this week and we picked up a couple more people. As mentioned before knoxville set a new record in the Production class and along with that we had new records set in 2wd stock and Fun BuRP. First week of points are now in the books so it's time to see who can stay at the top or sink to the bottom like a rock.

EvaderAndy 12-07-2004, 11:11 PM hey polli,
the new layout for roadcourse Is pretty sweet just it's got a pretty nasty last corner it's also the other way now too.
Polli 12-08-2004, 12:35 AM Andy, ya mean ya run the opposite direction then what we did last year?
Polli 12-08-2004, 12:43 AM Rick, I goes well, I spoze, and you? Hey ya gonna be around thursday or friday? I gotta pay ya a visit to hopefully pick up some 40 45 and 50 wt shock oil, and maybe some #54 pistons if ya got em
EvaderAndy 12-08-2004, 09:03 PM Andy, ya mean ya run the opposite direction then what we did last year?
Yeah It takes a little to get use to also you might need to gear down from last season I did.
OvalmanPA 12-08-2004, 09:21 PM Doin' good as can be I guess. Yep, I'll be here Thursday and Friday (going shopping Saturday). Have a body to get painted and I think I have to be around for Andys Pa to come get some parts too. :) Don't think I have any 45w oil but 40w, 50w, and 54 pistons I believe are there.
EvaderAndy 12-08-2004, 11:07 PM yeah my dad should be around bout noon or earlier:thumbsup:
OvalmanPA 12-12-2004, 09:19 PM Another week of racing in the books and what a week it was. We now have three new track records. Believe it or not we had a excellent race in the Production class with an A-main that was really a barn burner until the very end. And I blew it in the Stock truck A-main and ended up second again.

If you were wondering, we WILL be racing next week so after Santa visits you on Saturday, gather your stuff an' come on down to have a fun day of racing on Sunday.

OvalmanPA 12-26-2004, 08:28 PM Well from what it seems Amanda is running I'd look at what gearing you have on that overall (spur/pinion X tranny ratio) and try to match the same or real close to that ratio with your XXX because it seems hers isn't getting smokin' hot.
