Speaking of breaking things.... I did just that.

Rick, can you order me some rear inner hindge pins for the LXT?
Part#: LOS-2031 (according to the manual)

They are different than regular pins because the E-clips go in the inside of the a-arm instead of the ends.

I believe that they are the same as the GTX and NXT trucks.

Thanks

Andy........run it on the track and then check the temp. Mine runs hot when I'm not running it on the track but on, it runs between 220-245. Not sure about running my truck yet.....

Anybody that visits this thread will be getting a heads up with changes I am making. First of all, a change to try and help frequency conflicts. I will be putting the clip board with all the frequencies on the drivers stand now. Proper procedure will be to get your frequency clip ANY TIME you plan to have your radio on, this INCLUDES while you're racing. This will hopefully stop the problems of people turning their radios on before others are off the track and such.

Second will be a change to try and hurry up the day. We will have a table directly behind the drivers stand. After your race you will come off the track, place your vehicle on the table, turn off radio and vehicle, remove your transponder, return your frequency clip, and go to the track to marshall. While your vehicle is on the table the vehicle that needs teched will go through such. After you are done marshalling you can pick up your vehicle and return it to your pit area. Again, this is hopefully going to help speed things along during the day.

Any questions?

Just so everyone here knows. I won't be around on Thursday. I'm taking my yearly trip to Pissburg for a checkup so if you're planning to stop by for anything, do it tomorrow or you'll have to wait till Friday. :)

Polli I know how you feel now about glitches, I took my buggy out at ricks and instead of launching it under the pipes like you did I ramped the white pipe and went threw the upper part of the fence, I have a SUPER glitch but I think I know what it is, SPC told me that you shouldn't have the reciever wires and the motor wires close together, mine are on top of each other or it's the reciever like rick said.

Polli
07-07-2004, 03:35 AM
Andy, I agree with SPC and Rick. I try to keep all my wires away from eachother as much as the car will allow. My main glitch maker was my ESC lead wires(the wires from the ESC to the reciever) and possibly my ESC location. After I replaced the lead wires and moved the the ESC behind the motor instead of in front of it, my glitch problems pretty much went away. :)

EvaderAndy
07-07-2004, 12:11 PM
Well I rerooted my reciever wires away from the motor wires and it still glitched so the I tryed a different reciever and it still glitched so I got out the manual and it said to more the battery and reciever as far away as possiable but in the buggy there isn't any room to move anything. also it said that the motor may cause radio interference and to install resistors on the motor and I put 6 on my 10 turn and it helped a little but it still took off. so I tryed my fantom and it had no glitches so I guess that 10 turn motor and that small of an area just didn't mix so while all you other 4wd drivers are runing 11,13 ect turns I'll run my little fantom owell as long it runs and don't run off !

OvalmanPA

Boy that's a bummer Andy. Capacitors will usually take care of any interference from a motor but there are those very few that just refuse to be taken down to size. Maybe we can have a look at it Sunday and come up with something?

k1m

Andy: Radio frequency interference is what causes glitching and usually comes from a bad connection somewhere where the electricity has to jump alittle (spark) to complete the circuit. The motor is the most common place for sparks, on the comm and brushes. That's why we put capacitors on our motors, to act like little filters. A low turn motor eats up brushes and comm alot faster than a stock so maybe a fresh set of brushes and a fresh cut comm might help. Check the screws that fasten the brush wires to the endbell. They're famous for coming loose and that will cause a spark as well.

I understand what your saying K1m but It's New from AE right out of the box. I might down size a little run a 13 like Donaldbain.

Sounds good Rick we'll give it a whril.

I know it might sound dumb but that new motor right out of the package might need a com truing and the brushes are bouncing around which causes sparks, which like Kim said, causes glitching.

Guess what I got by big white van today from Traxxas? :) I'll be fully EVX-ifide this week if all goes well tomorrow.

A good turnout of racers this week for our mid season double points race and good racing there was. Two new records this week with K1M laying down a new record in the Mini-T class and Courtney Morse lowering the time in 4wd buggy. The track is terrible to try and keep damp when the sun/wind are working on it all the time but we managed to get through. Sixth race of the season is coming up next week and let's hope the good weather holds out. Also a good luck wish to K1M, Joy, Canbquik, LLB, and Kanesurfguru who will be representing at the BRP race next weekend in Ohio. Show 'em how it's done guys!

If anyone is interested...I am selling my indi 16x4-Pro charger. It charges both NiCds and Hydride batteries. I'm not sure of a price yet cuz I cant remember how much I payed for it. I've used it for about a year, nothings wrong with it. The only thing I dont like about it is that ya can't turn off the trickle charge when the battery is done charging. Other than that it's a good lil charger :)

EvaderAndy
07-14-2004, 05:12 PM
well it was the ESC in the buggy and now it runs great. But I might sell it anyway. Does anyone know if Brian Hildom will be there this week?

BTW Rick,
Did you order my diff rebuild kit? how much?

OvalmanPA
07-14-2004, 08:44 PM
Polli.......I sell them for $115 new if that helps any. Bring it with you and maybe somebody will be interested or you can even leave it at the shop to try and sell.

Andy.........after you run it I bet you'll change your mind. :) Brian told me he won't be here this weekend because they are going to the Unadilla motocross races. If I remember correctly the rebuild kit will be $6.30.

EvaderAndy

the only real reason is that I don't have enough batts to run e-maxx let alone speacial packs for the xx4 but I don't know, I want to race it but don't have the power too. But I might sell it and look for a cheap xxx4 that way I can run all packs in all cars But I don't know

Rick,
what day did you say parts normally come in Mon,Tues,Weds?

Polli
07-15-2004, 12:01 AM
Thanks Rick. I'll bring it up Sunday. I think I'll ask for 50$ for the charger, but willing to negotiate :)

Andy, I know your pain man. That's why I havent done anything with the street weapon that I got off of Chris yet. I basically turned it into a parts car. If I'm not mistaken though, I think you can take a saddle pack and line the cells up like a stick pack, depending on wire length and maybe battery bars. If so then you should be able to use them in your other rides. As far as being under powered...that isnt necessarily a bad thing. Its easier to control, and control is GOOD! I'm still tryin to harness the power of my D6, it's turning out to be quite the chore. The faster ya go, the more things break when ya lose that control

EvaderAndy
07-15-2004, 11:50 AM
sounds good polli I'll just have to find some super flex wire:lol: the main thing is the rally with no belt guards and the batt going under it it's going to be a task, but the e-maxx and evader should be fine I hope. cause right now all I have for the buggy is one pack but I might break down all my packs that way they all Should fit.

OvalmanPA

They should be here on Monday Andy. Might come USPS though so I won't know for sure till Monday afternoon.

Polli........forgot to say that your diamond bit is here also. Been awhile since I got mine. Didn't remember how much those things were. $75 :freak:

Rick I don't know how wet it is over on your side of the hill but it's down right drenched on this side. I know the track was dry but dang! how much damage is done to the track?

OvalmanPA
07-16-2004, 06:16 PM
Polli......to tell you the truth I can't remember myself. If you did it won't be here till Monday cause I just put in most of the order last Monday. Edit - Yea now I remember, Trinity P94 syle brushes, dual shunt! Think my brain is fried from to much dust sometimes. LOL

Andy........not sure yet actually. IF it doesn't rain any more tomorrow I'll be down in the afternoon to check things out and do some work. Things don't look "to bad" from the shop but we'll see.

EvaderAndy

Well we ended up getting 5 races in this year before our first rainout. I was starting to get worried that I had made the wrong decision after the initial "wetting" this morning but then it opened up this afternoon and hasn't quit yet! Todd got a little track time before the rain came this afternoon and I'm betting he liked the traction. :) Guess we'll try again next week. See everyone then!

07-21-2004, 02:50 PM
hey rick,

you going to be around tomarrow from 10am-2? I figured I'd come pick up my order and get some practice with the buggy.

OvalmanPA
07-21-2004, 05:50 PM
Polli.........yep, just got 2 of them in my last shipment I think.

Todd.........I'm not sure, I'll have to look into that for you otherwise I'll get the Losi one. I just got done running my nitro down at the track. Found a problem too...........leaky fuel tank around the one fuel nipple. OOOHHHH what a mess! Does seem to run pretty well though after some carb adjusting, slipper adjusting, and diff adjusting. I figured that this would be about as close to race day conditions today as I'd be getting (drying out from wet) so I ventured down. The IFMAR pins I slapped on seem to work quite a bit better than the Bowties. Still a little "skatey" but nothing like with the other tires.

Andy......I'll be here all day tomorrow so come on up. If I'm not right at the shop I'll just be next door getting some grub.

Oh yea, the tank wasn't the only thing leaking.............damn it's HOT out today! :freak:

Polli
07-22-2004, 12:12 AM
Rick I'll prolly be up Saturday to get that stuff

scoutout02
07-22-2004, 05:01 AM
Rick, if your fuel tank was leaking, your carb settings are probably gonna be different once you fix it. your right about the ifmar pins though, but the step pins seem to work better when the track is really dry and loose.
