Sorry Todd, I got strong armed into working Sunday. Anyone know of a boat conversion kit for a xxx4? I need to get it dialed in somehow!

I have used balloons and vet wrap. They both work very well plus the colors are numerous.

Thanks ronden, I've heard of using balloons, I've used shock socks and have no complaints, plus they dont need tape.

Vet wrap isn't to thick to mess with the shock movement? By the way, welcome aboard! You find a truck yet?

Sugar Daddy

I've heard of a lot of people using that tape. It goes on and off easy so you can change it when it gets too dirty.

Rick, do you have transmission bearings for a XXX? i blew one runnin around my driveway today.

Polli
05-23-2004, 11:26 PM
Todd, which bearings are you talking about? There are 3 pairs of them in the tranny, excluding the ones used in the diff. I may have what your lookin for

scoutout02
05-24-2004, 01:13 AM
the big ones for the drive cups. 1/2"x3/4". if ya have them, bring'em to work, i'll stop by and give ya a couple bucks for them.

Polli
05-24-2004, 04:01 AM

yep'er, rick. put a rear shock tower for XXXnt, and throw in some ball studs too. broke one on the xxx on that last battery pack i was runnin. should've gone home when it rained. lol

Polli
05-28-2004, 12:18 AM
Todd what are you doing to those pooooor things lol :) I guess your finding out that Losi's arent quite "Tonka Tuff" !

Rick, are you gonna be around Saturday? Even if it rains I wanna get those wings and a few other things if possible

scoutout02
05-28-2004, 09:03 AM
i'd say they held up quite well, considering who was driving them...lol. i did a bit of work on the track polli, i think you'll like it. i smoothed out the table tops, and the triple. no more sweet spots. its kinda nice. my XXX is dialed in too.

OvalmanPA
05-28-2004, 06:37 PM
Todd......thanks for the help with the track. I think I saw you working a little on the "ditch" on the back straight? I noticed it seemed like your XXX was taking jumps a lot better. The wonders a rake will do huh? :)

Polli.....I'll be here till around 3 PM. We are going to Olean to pick up supplies for the coming season so I won't be here after 3. BTW, all your wings are here now.

Polli
05-29-2004, 01:16 AM
Cool, cool. hopefully the rain holds off long enough for me to get some practice in

OvalmanPA
05-29-2004, 10:16 AM
Absolutely beautiful day right now! By the way, after 3 today the shop will be closed until Tuesday. The track is still here for practice though if anybody wants to get some before next Sunday. I might have to try some tomorrow. :)

scoutout02
05-29-2004, 03:33 PM
no problem with the help Rick, i'll probably be up tues. to practice some more. do you have ball studs at the shop? Polli let me know what you think of the track, i have work all weekend. :[

OvalmanPA
05-29-2004, 08:26 PM
Todd.......yes I do. The 3/16 and 3/8 ones. They are $3.50 for a package of 4 with plastic ballends.

Polli said the track sucks now. :jest:

Polli
05-30-2004, 12:42 AM
It only sucked until I watered the garden, lol. The track was soooooooooo dry, no traction at all. The jumps are nice and level, very nice work Todd! The bridge needs a lil work though. You can definately tell where the dirt washed away from the plywood of the bridge itself. If ya hit it wrong, you're either on your lid, or spun-out. I'll be heading up Sunday, and maybe Monday. Maybe Rick will let be add some dirt to the front of the bridge?

OvalmanPA
05-30-2004, 10:21 AM
Polli.......no need in asking man. Have at it! I'm charging a few packs right now so maybe I can play a little bit too. Going to tune up the Production truck and see how it'll run for 5 minutes.

OvalmanPA
05-30-2004, 09:47 PM
Another long test session by the Pollinator today. And somebody showed up that was supposed to be working. :) Oh yes, somebody forgot to take care of some equipment before they left too............. :freak:

Polli
05-31-2004, 02:12 AM
Sorry Rick, that's my fault. I wrapped up the hose and forgot all about the wheel barrel, rake, shovel and stamper. It wont happen again

OvalmanPA
05-31-2004, 09:01 PM
Sol good. It forced me to go down and do a little more raking in a couple areas. I just hope the downpore today didn't wash it all away again. :( I've got to thank you again for helping out with the track. Certain areas I need a little help with at times and it's appreciated.

Polli

Rick, How'd the track hold up after the last storms we had? I got snagged to work this weekend, I am gonna try to make it Sunday

OvalmanPA
06-04-2004, 10:03 AM
I haven't been "on" it yet but for looking at it from the edge the back straight might need a little attention again. Other than that, it doesn't look bad. Now if I could just get my damn nitro truck running I'd test it out. :)

EvaderAndy
06-04-2004, 11:12 AM
I know how you feel rick, mine nitro will run for about a minute then shut off and not start again I take the glow plug out to burn off the fuel just incase that's the problem but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't any tips?

OvalmanPA
06-04-2004, 12:00 PM
Andy.....sorry, I'm still a newbie when it comes to this whole nitro thing. :(

EvaderAndy
06-04-2004, 01:36 PM
That's okay Rick, Luckily my dad's good with carbuators so Hopefully he can help.

Team Associated is pretty quick on repairs I sent back my Quasar 2 weeks ago and they sent it back with 2nd day air mail and got it today The beep isn't as annoying as it was.

OvalmanPA
06-04-2004, 01:43 PM
I just sent the new one back from the shop on Wednesday so I'll see how long it takes to get back. I still have to send mine in.

scoutout02
06-04-2004, 04:10 PM
Andy, it may be that your carb is set too lean. turn the high speed needle CCW 1/8 of a turn at a time run it for a min, don't sit in idle, get it upto temp asap. it kinda sucks, but you really have to mess around with the setting to get it right sometimes. Also i found some extra parts in my box that i can't use for the ST. i'll give them to ya sunday.

OvalmanPA
06-04-2004, 07:51 PM
May have found my problem also....................we'll see.

OvalmanPA
06-04-2004, 07:52 PM

Things are looking good right now. Track is just nicely damp so I'm hoping for no downpores. We've had a constant drizzle/mist all day. I did a little maintenance this morning so things should be good to go come tomorrow. If it RAINS, check the website or give a call after 9 to see if we'll be racing.

First week of racing is in the books and we don't have any comments? This has me worried. Anyway.............what a first raceday it was. Heck of a good turnout for the new season, the race director flubbed things up and we didn't get started until an hour late (SORRY!), and boy did we have eaters! The Cook couldn't hardly keep the food cooked fast enough! It seemed like the debute of the Mini-T class was pretty much a success. If there are any changes suggested there, let me know. I guess everybody liked the change to 5 minute racing? Twenty five racers showed up on a cloudy day with quite a few new faces among them. It's nice to see everyone again after the two month break and definitly nice to do some racing. The track records won't be updated until I hear back from the Autoscore guy. I'm asking him a question that might change things so I don't want to jump the gun. Without further ado......the results.

I had a great time racing once again, even though the xxx4 was a glitch magnet. I replaced the reciever and the motor with a brand new 11 single D6. I still get some glitch, can anyone help? I dont wanna park the xxx4. Could it be the speed control(GT7)? I only get the glitch when the car is about 50 feet away from me. I run the same transmitter as I do w my BK2, no glitch there, the BK 2 also has a GT7 and the same kind of reciever that the xxx4 has. please help!!!!
