EvaderAndy 03-27-2004, 03:16 PM Thanks  JohnAW 03-28-2004, 05:08 PM Hey guys I have a question. When is the first day of offroad racing? OvalmanPA 03-28-2004, 10:00 PM Hey guys I have a question. When is the first day of offroad racing? Planning right now on June 6th if everything goes right. OvalmanPA 03-28-2004, 10:06 PM Was an excellent day for a trophy race and we had a pretty good crowd. Racing was as hot and heavy as always and some of the mains were something to see. The A-main of Production had VERY few wrecks if you will believe that! :p We handed out some pretty good looking hardware if I do say so myself and I think the day went pretty well. We'd like to thank all you racers that helped make this carpet season a successful one and we look forward to doing it again next November! See ya'll in the dirt in a couple months! Racers Edge R/C Racing & Hobbies 03-28-2004 -- Production - A Main -- Pos Car Laps time name id avg.mph 1 7 58 4:04.05 Mike Button 16 15.88 2 2 57 4:02.54 Amanda Himes 22 15.70 3 1 57 4:05.64 Randy Coon 21 15.50 4 3 56 4:04.78 Andy Eaton 12 15.29 -- Production - B Main -- Pos Car Laps time name id avg.mph 1 2 55 4:01.29 Jim Cook 7 15.23 2 3 53 4:03.38 Jeff Covert 23 14.55 3 4 47 4:03.21 Cory Kisko 6 12.91 4 1 9 0:41.77 Brandon Covert 24 14.40 -- Production - C Main -- Pos Car Laps time name id avg.mph 1 0 50 4:00.46 Joe Bootes 27 13.89 2 4 50 4:03.46 Jeff Covert Jr 25 13.72 3 5 43 4:00.78 Jeff Kinney 5 11.93 4 1 15 1:46.31 Mark Tilley 26 9.43 -- Open BuRP - A Main -- Pos Car Laps time name id avg.mph 1 6 68 5:03.56 Chris Burrows 9 14.97 2 8 66 5:02.41 Kim Fortner 28 14.58 3 1 60 5:03.82 Don Weimer 33 13.20 4 3 57 5:05.36 Laura Burrows S 8 12.47 5 7 56 5:02.97 Mike Button S 18 12.35 6 2 50 5:02.86 Joy Fortner S 30 11.03 -- Stock truck - A Main -- Pos Car Laps time name id avg.mph 1 4 63 4:00.78 Courtney Morse 19 17.48 2 6 61 4:03.08 Chris Burrows 10 16.77 3 7 59 4:03.28 Johna Simar 3 16.20 4 1 49 3:24.02 Don Weimer 32 16.05 -- 2wd stock - A Main -- Pos Car Laps time name id avg.mph 1 6 67 4:02.85 Chris Burrows 11 18.43 2 7 67 4:03.17 Johna Simar 4 18.41 -- Stock TC - A Main -- Pos Car Laps time name id avg.mph 1 3 38 5:00.77 Andy Eaton 13 11.20 2 1 37 5:05.15 Polli Burlingame 35 10.75 3 7 36 5:01.37 Mike Button 17 10.59 -- 4 --- DNS --- Courtney Morse 20 0.00 -- Fun BuRP - A Main -- Pos Car Laps time name id avg.mph 1 5 31 5:01.27 Rick Morgan 1 9.12 2 8 31 5:05.31 Kim Fortner 29 9.00 3 1 30 5:00.56 Don Weimer 34 8.85 4 2 28 5:03.63 Joy Fortner 31 8.17 5 3 27 5:04.19 Andy Eaton 14 7.87 6 9 19 5:09.24 Barb Morgan 2 5.45 7 4 14 5:12.45 Ray Eaton 15 3.97 Polli 03-31-2004, 02:40 AM Rick, I've been meaning to ask ya, A friend of mine at work is interested in getting an Emax, how much are ya selling them for and what do they come with? OvalmanPA 03-31-2004, 04:59 PM We sell the EMaxxes for $320. They come with truck, radio, ESC, and servos. He'll need batteries and a charger. Polli 04-02-2004, 03:59 AM Tahnks Rick, what kind of batteries would ya recomend for someone just getting into the hobbie? Can anyone tell me what springs, shock oil, pistons and tires work well for a xxx4 on the dirt track? k1m 04-02-2004, 05:05 PM Polli: You can't hardly beat these setups, at least for starters: http://www.teamlosi.com/setups/xxx4g+/index.htm Here's some pix from last weeks race.... pic #1- EvaderAndy, Mike, "Driver of the Year" Amanda, Puddin'(Randy) pic #2- Cookie & Corry with their special award OvalmanPA 04-02-2004, 09:38 PM Tahnks Rick, what kind of batteries would ya recomend for someone just getting into the hobbie? Can anyone tell me what springs, shock oil, pistons and tires work well for a xxx4 on the dirt track? Most anything will work with a Maxx. It really depends on the persons budget I guess and what they'll be doing with it. I can't say I'd recommend $50 matched packs for somebody that is going to play in the back yard. :) I have some Duratrax 1900s coming next week that would probably work well actually. scoutout02 04-02-2004, 10:50 PM Rick, poli and i are probally, going to the track Sat. but i broke a drive cup in the XXX. do you have any? kinda hard to run with one axle spinnin. Polli 04-03-2004, 01:29 AM I got ya covered,Todd :) JohnAW 04-03-2004, 06:48 PM Hey guys...i'm in a tight spot. I want to get an 8th scale buggy to race down at the track in the summer. However, to do so, I need to sell my Nitro Stampede and Custom Mini MT. Would anyone be interested in either of them? I have LOTS of pics and might be able to arrange it so you can see it in person and to save on shipping.;) OvalmanPA 04-03-2004, 07:40 PM Not to discourage you but you might be better off getting a 1/10 scale nitro truck (XXXNT, GT, etc) or something electric if you plan to race here. We have VERY FEW (if any) 1/8 scale buggies show up and the track is actually a little to small for them to really run well. If you have another place to race it also however, by all means go for it because they do look like a blast. JohnAW 04-03-2004, 08:12 PM You guys are the closest place I can go to race offroad. I'm over in Warren and all we have is Riverside Raceway. Which is a carpeted oval. LOL How about a 2.5 Nitro Rustler? Would that truck with the 2.5 engine be allowed to race in the 1/10 scale nitro truck class? OvalmanPA 04-03-2004, 10:35 PM Perfect fit John! We had one guy run a Rustler with us for a few races last year. Everybody.......we had a couple of "nuts" over here today for a little practice. :) One section of the track was a little um.......moist to say the least and I think their cars were probably about 10 pounds heavier by the time they were done. But I bet it was a good time anyway, huh Polli and Todd? If it ever quits raining we'll get started on the track to get things ready for the summer season. Polli 04-04-2004, 04:03 AM Oh, it was Definatley well worth the wait and the HUGE mess to be cleaned up afterwards! (this coming from the guy who likes to run electric in the rain :) ) I think I could have built my own track just out of the clay that was superglued to my tires! The track actually wasnt that bad to drive on, except for the "moist" bog in front of the drivers stand and first table top. It was so sticky the cars practically came to a dead stop there. But I had fun, gave me an idea of what to tune for the real deal this summer. JohnAW 04-04-2004, 10:45 AM Ok cool. Thanks guys. Maybe I'll see ya'll at the races this summer!;) Polli 04-04-2004, 10:27 PM Rick, that Fantom motor I got off ya Saturday, (silver can) what was it again? I can't remember for the life of me. I got a memory like an open screen door. How do you tell the difference anyways? I know they have different color cans, I looked on trinity's site and didnt see any motors with a siver can OvalmanPA 04-05-2004, 06:50 PM Polli.......one reason for that is it's an EPIC Motorsports (subsidiary of Trinity) motor. :) It is an EPIC Binary 2 stock motor. Try www.epicmotorsports.com (http://www.epicmotorsports.com) One way and the best way to tell the difference between this motor and other stocks is the armature tag. It says EPSTK27 whereas most other Trinity motors say EPIC27. Tag colors, can designs, and armature designs also depict what the motor is. Hope that helps! Sugar Daddy 04-05-2004, 07:41 PM Hey Rick, is the Binary 2 stock motor legal on your track? I'm trying to figure out what motor to use this year. Polli 04-06-2004, 02:59 AM Rick, that does help, thanks man. I went epicmotorsports...From what I gathered the Binary 2 is based on a D5, and there are 2 stockers- a ROAR legal one and a BRCA legal one. I guess the ROAR has 2 magnets and the BRCA has 4, right? I havn't had the motor apart yet to look at the magnets, so which one do I have again? lol :) and like SD asks, Are we gonna be able to run this/these motors this summer? OvalmanPA 04-06-2004, 08:34 PM To my knowledge (which isn't much) the motor, whether there are two versions or not, is not ROAR legal by any means. Such as the ads Trinity is running that says they are "banned" and "outlaw stock". Can you run them here, yepper. Our rules state; "Closed endbell stock motor and rebuildable stocks only. (27 turn single wind armatures ONLY with 24º of timing)". I think I am going to ammend this rule to state rebuildable motors must be "tagged" however. We also state in the general rules section; "All rebuildable stock motors must run the armature they were manufactured with. Replacements of same armature are permitted but no interchanging of armature between brand or manufacturer. (Ex. no running Yokomo arm. in EPIC can or Paradox arm. in P2K can)". scoutout02 04-06-2004, 08:49 PM polli, the diff in the XXX is good to go. thanks. The turnbuckles worked too, but they look tiny on the truck, so i'm gonna order some. Rick, do you have 2.25" or 2.30" turn buckles? I need batteries, does Tom post on this site? or does anyone have cheap 3300 they want to part with. (polli)? Polli 04-07-2004, 01:32 AM What do ya mean by tagged? And can ya explain why you would need to tag the rebuildables? Koool Todd, I'm glad I could help out. Sorry I cant help ya out with the batteries. I'm gonna pick up another pack so I'll have a pack for each main, and I'm gonna use my other packs for practice and qualifiars. Oh yea, Thanks Kim for the link, that definately pointed me in the right direction Sugar Daddy 04-07-2004, 04:35 AM Hey Polli, it's a little peice of paper on the amature that identifies the armature as a stock motor. (or what ever it may be) If you pull the arm out, or just look in through the cooling vents on your motor while turning it, you should see the tag. Here is a pic. (Sorry for the bad pic, and yes the armature is burnt and the tag was set on fire. That was a fun day! Polli 04-07-2004, 02:05 PM Cool, SD, I was hoping I wasn't gonna have to attach a lil flag to my motor, saying "Rebuildable" :) OvalmanPA 04-07-2004, 05:03 PM Todd........sorry, can't help you with the turnbuckles. Tom does not post on this site but you can get ahold of him @ Spec Point Concepts (www.specpointbatteries.com). Polli......yea what SD said. I kind of like your idea though. :) The tag designates what the motor is. EPIC27, EPSTK27, ATL27, YOK27, TOP27.............these are all stock motor tags epoxied on the armature. Trinity also has a few colors for their tags to designate different motors. 19 turn motors also have their own set of identifying tags. Track is looking pretty good today guys, you should have stopped up today! :p scoutout02 04-07-2004, 05:35 PM if theres no mud, i'm not goin... lol EvaderAndy 04-07-2004, 08:15 PM Well the Maxx is an EVX healthier and runs great! I'm hoping to make it up to the track this saturday (hopefully) ,you going to be around rick?P.S Rick you got mail. OvalmanPA 04-07-2004, 09:01 PM I'll be here all day. Polli 04-08-2004, 12:42 AM If I wasn't cursed with second shift work, I would have been up. Are ya gonna be around Friday, Rick? I'll prolly be up Saturday too. I got some new setups to try out. Todd, Did ya get your motor back? EvaderAndy 04-08-2004, 06:49 AM Sorry I screwed up EvaderAndy 04-08-2004, 06:51 AM Hey Rick, Do you cut coms?/if you do how much? I was going to have tom or adam do it the last race but they didn't show. OvalmanPA 04-08-2004, 06:49 PM Polli.........I will be here all day doing something or other around the shop. Andy...........yep, $5 + tax scoutout02 04-08-2004, 08:48 PM got my motor Polli, let me know if your going to the track Friday.(call me) I'll go with or meet you there. i'm gonna have all the kids, so i'll probably meet you. I've got good news. Is an OS cv-rx a good engine or should i go with something different(model)? Sugar Daddy 04-08-2004, 10:00 PM Todd. Is is the .12 or .15? I had the .15 in my HPI RS3 SS, and that motor flew. I heard the .12 are better for racing though. scoutout02 04-08-2004, 11:32 PM SD, its a .12 for a 1/10 stadium truck. i was also looking at the Trinity P15 .15 Picco Round Side Exhaust Engine. what do ya'll think? scoutout02 04-09-2004, 05:14 PM rick, i'm gonna wait on the engine and header for 2 weeks. thanks OvalmanPA 04-09-2004, 07:43 PM rick, i'm gonna wait on the engine and header for 2 weeks. thanks Todd...........you want them for sure though right? I might just get them ordered anyway if you know you want them for sure. How about the truck? scoutout02 04-09-2004, 11:31 PM Rick, yes i want the truck, engine, header, & rx pack. i'm just gonna have to wait to pay for the engine and header in 2 weeks. is that ok? the truck i can pickup when you get it in though. scoutout02 04-09-2004, 11:45 PM Hey  , if anyone is interested, i'm selling my Maximum ST Pro. the engine has about 2gal. of fuel through it and aluminum everything. Ricks got it at his shop, there are alot of extras too, you gotta see it. the whole package,(radio Mag jr. , reciever, #3orange crystal set, basher tires, proline bowties, edge fronts, losi silver IFMAR pins, ignitor, spring set, xtra shocks, and a crowdpleazer body w/1run on it) is going for $180. if your interested see it in Ricks shop. PS it does need a steering servo, not parting with my high torque. Thanks all.. :) OvalmanPA 04-10-2004, 10:01 AM Rick, yes i want the truck, engine, header, & rx pack. i'm just gonna have to wait to pay for the engine and header in 2 weeks. is that ok? the truck i can pickup when you get it in though. Todd..yea that's fine. I just wanted to make sure you did want them for sure because if Troy calls back today I figured I'd get the engine ordered. scoutout02 04-10-2004, 07:59 PM Rick, how much was it for the RX pack? i don't think i asked ya OvalmanPA 04-10-2004, 08:10 PM How much money you got? :) No really, I'll have $7.50 in the cells and if I remember correctly the male BEC connector is about $1.95 so how's 12 bones sound to ya? OvalmanPA 04-10-2004, 08:20 PM Been bustin' my hump all day working on the track. Who would have known just a winter can make things look so bad! So you want some big air right? Well I think the new triple will make you happy. Polli gave it a go and when he could keep the XXX4 going straight he was probably a good 6-8 feet in the air. The jumps still need a little TLC to get the faces just right because I noticed you had to hit it in certain places but it's a good start. Most classes will definitly be double singling............if they can do that. :) We also built up the tabletops a little bit and they seemed pretty forgiving. If the weather holds out tomorrow I should have it mostly done. You all are more than welcome to come out and give it a whirl! Speaking of Polli, I want to once again thank him for putting his sweat into helping me out today. He was the (un)lucky guy to be the first to roll pack the new jumps. As a bonus though, he was also the first to get to try the new layout! June is a coming guys! scoutout02 04-10-2004, 10:41 PM 12 bones sounds lots better than 40. thanks lots... :) i too got to play in the dirt today... broken septic pipe dirt. if polli is gettin 8ft., i should get 10 with 1.2hp. no pressure rick but when might all the stuff be in? Polli 04-11-2004, 02:21 AM I'm glad I could help out, Rick. Looks like I won't be needing a receiver after all. I had more rocks work their way into the receiver, and here I thought I had it sealed off. I guess I'll have to try another approach. Getting that much air wasn't too hard, it was the take off and especially the landing that seemed to hurt the most! But I still say the xxx4 held together rather well despite the busted cvd. Oh BTW, do you have replacement steel ones? or the rebuild kits? What comes in those anyways? Sounds like Todd got some good air too Saturday!! Happy Easter Everybody!!!!!!!!! EvaderAndy 04-11-2004, 11:36 AM hey todd you got mail:thumbsup: Happy Easter Everyone:hat: OvalmanPA 04-11-2004, 01:54 PM Todd.........crappy job but somebody has to do it right? If I get everything ordered tomorrow I should have it the following week so you can start building. Polli........sorry, don't have any CVDs or the rebuilds. :( I can get them but don't have them here. Not sure what does come in the rebuild either. Well the new triple is proving to be a formidible opponent. SD was up this morning for a little play and he couldn't quite get a double out of it with his stocker. Adam was just up with his mod T4 and could do double easy but could only muster landing on the face of the third. Guess there's only been one clearing so far and that hasn't been completely pretty. We'll see what happens when the traction is a little better. scoutout02 04-11-2004, 02:35 PM Rick, would you be able to post some pics of the truck? Andy, by the way, its a Max ST Pro. rear shocks are really the only difference between the ST & MT. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
