OvalmanPA 12-09-2003, 02:19 PM Todd.......I'm glad you got the tire thing straightened out. I figured it would be kind of funny to have 2.0 wheels for the XXX. As for anyone telling you to sit down. I don't really think anyone would do that necassarily. What you need is just a little help to get things up to speed with the rest of the pack. Takes time but it will come. Oval is about 80-90% setup and driving skill and then once you get that down you can use that extra power in good bats and motors.
Had a great time at practice tonite. I think more people should take advantage of the opportunity to do some testing and tweaking.
AND ITS FREE!
Thanks, Rick
OvalmanPA 12-10-2003, 12:02 PM Glad to have a few of you there. I kind of like it because it gives me a chance to get the cars cleaned up a little. Hope we have a few more show up though. Carpetburner should be able to be there next week.
canbquik 12-11-2003, 08:51 AM would be nice to see more there, cuz there's time to talk with and get to know the people we race with every week and barely know their last name :freak: Thanks, Rick, for opening the track up and let's all show a little support , if he's will to be there, least we can do is keep him company so that we continue to have this opportunity
Sugar Daddy: Here's a buddy for your co-pilot,

Sugar Daddy 12-12-2003, 06:21 PM I'm going up, but I'm not bringing anything to race. I'll just check them out and get some pics too.
trashedmaxx 12-12-2003, 06:29 PM i got a question. i got a racers edge decal set and i was wondering if it goes on the inside or out. reason i'm asking is because i bought a car used with a painted body and they were on the inside. BTW how many of you guys got mini-t's my wife let me have mine (my christmas gift) early.
OvalmanPA 12-12-2003, 07:27 PM Mike......most of them are designed to go on the outside to my knowledge. Try pealing the backing off one and that'll let you know which way it goes.
Nobody here with a Mini-T unfortunatly. :( Apparently we were left out of the first shipment and won't be getting them till after the first of the year now.

trashedmaxx 12-12-2003, 10:38 PM What kind of car did you buy?

OvalmanPA 12-13-2003, 07:00 PM Todd.........as far as I know he is computerly challenged.........as in, he doesn't have one. :)
Mike......I don't want to discourage you by any means but it sounds like we are going to have a heck of a snowstorm headed our way for tomorrow. Hope you can make it down but hope you aren't stranded here either. :)
scoutout02 12-14-2003, 12:46 AM well, i wanted someone to remind him about the batts for next week. 2400's i need 2 packs and he was giving a good price. i would myself, but i'm not going to make it tommorow. thanks
Sugar Daddy 12-14-2003, 01:22 AM If anyone is interested, I have a few pics of the Jamestown track on my site. Chris is going to bring more with him tomorrow.
Polli 12-14-2003, 07:33 AM yep you guys are right. there is alot to be learned, and I will switch to production. I had no idea the differences would be so night and day, it's just krazy sic. Who knew you could actually get on power stearing from a buggy, a bouble x at that! I'm still shocked at the handling differences. I'll see you next weekend, as my real car is in the shop gettin road leagalized
trashedmaxx 12-14-2003, 08:05 PM Hey that was preetty fun driving with you guys in the burp class.Going to have to make it down again.
OvalmanPA 12-14-2003, 09:12 PM Mike...........good to see you and the Mrs. again and REAL good to see you must have made it home in one piece. Hope you can make it down again soon. You'll have to give those Production guys a good run next time here, Andy and Mike need spanked.
EvaderAndy 12-14-2003, 09:59 PM Me need spanked..... never :jest:
OvalmanPA 12-15-2003, 11:35 PM Kind of late on getting the results put up for everybody to see this week but here they are. Two new track records this week, once again in the BuRP class. Sugar Daddy lowered his time in the Open BuRP stock class with a 56/5:02.33 and K1M smoked his old Open BuRP modified time by two laps running a 64/5:02.67.

BlueIceMaxx 12-16-2003, 04:43 PM Hey ya'll. Long time no talk.;) Could someone point me in the direction to where I could buy one of these Burps? Or find more information on them? Thanks.:D
Sugar Daddy 12-16-2003, 07:28 PM For more info on BuRPs, go here: BuRP (http://www.brpracing.com)
Just got word from Bud Bartos, he and a few of the other racers from the Ohio area are going to join us again here in Pa. for some BRP racing January 25th. They made the trip last year and we all had a great day of 1/18 scale racing. You will see some VERY fast mini racers, for sure! We've had some really good times racing with these guys at BRP World Headquarters in Ohio, they like having fun AND good tight racing.
BlueIce: Follow S.D.'s link to BRPracing.com and/or come to the track and see for yourself what it's all about.
EvaderAndy 12-18-2003, 04:35 PM yeah BlueIceMaxxa BRP is the car to own. It's fun to use the PVC pipe holder as a ramp!
trashedmaxx 12-18-2003, 09:49 PM They got mini-t's in stock at stormer.
And i was wondering if anybody knows if t3 and t4 wheels are interchangable?
Sugar Daddy 12-18-2003, 10:28 PM I checked AE's site and they said they would as long as you are useing 3/16th axels in the rear. The fronts are interchangable. I found it here: AE site (http://www.teamassociated.com/shusting/CatalogHub/kitspecs_t4/kitt4_comparisons.htm) , just scoll down the page to the FAQ part.
OvalmanPA 12-19-2003, 09:00 PM Well $390 later and I have before me the new Autoscore Windows program waiting to be installed to the laptop we have purchased from KaneSurfGuru. Not sure when he'll be getting that to us so it will probably be another week or so before we start running with the new software.
Just a reminder for anyone here interested. We may be getting the new AMBrc system before we had originally planned as AMB prices are scheduled to go up 10-15% come the first of the year. If anyone is interested in purchasing a personal transponder when we get the new system, please let me know!
EvaderAndy 12-19-2003, 09:23 PM how much are the personal transponders
What are some of the added features to the new version? (Besides running in a window) Are there different brands of P.T.'s or do they have to be from AMB to work?
johnqpublic 12-19-2003, 11:36 PM You have to buy them from AMB. I think theyre about $80. You can set up the system to give you lap times during practice. You never have to worry about getting or giving back the transponder. This should speed things up quite a bit. Theyre small, so less weight in the BURPS. I have one and trust me, they are awesome!
johnqpublic 12-19-2003, 11:38 PM Any body know what the deal is w/ the track in Franklin? I'm gonna be down there at my inlaws for the holidays and would like to swing by if theyre still racing there.
OvalmanPA 12-20-2003, 02:53 PM how much are the personal transponders
Andy.........going to be $70
K1M.......haven't installed it here on this puter yet to see what all is different (ya know, Christmas is coming :)) but from the demo I downloaded it is pretty much the same just Winders based. The layout is a LOT different but all the features are about the same I think. The big plus is, it is AMBrc compatible so you CAN use the personal transponders. AMB is the only one that makes transponders for their system. :(
Paul.......Glen and Helen Singleton (Hooter Chassis and Hobby) would probably be good ones to ask that question. I'm not familiar with it myself.
EvaderAndy 12-21-2003, 05:44 PM this week was fun
a special thanks to don for the zip ties and Kim for installing the zip ties to hold the front end together THANKS
OvalmanPA 12-21-2003, 09:01 PM Another great week of racing here. No records to report after having some almost every week. Andy had a little problem that required some "engineering" to get fixed so he could run the main and then he ended up winning it!

Once again, if anyone is interested in a personal transponder, please let me know BY TUESDAY. We have decided in fact to get the new system ordered before the year end so I will be ordering Tuesday. I plan to get five personal transponders but if there is a need for more I will order them at the same time.
EvaderAndy 12-21-2003, 09:46 PM will you have transponders at the track for people to use if they don't buy their own ? Deb
OvalmanPA 12-21-2003, 10:02 PM Deb.......oh yes. We'll have 10 "public" transponders for anyone that doesn't have their own transponder just like we do now.
EvaderAndy 12-21-2003, 10:10 PM if we decide to buy our own transponder later on , will you be able to order it ?
OvalmanPA 12-22-2003, 09:49 PM Since it seems nobody wants one now, I'll have the five I'm ordering until they are gone for $70. After those five are sold, yes I'll be able to get more but they will be more expensive as prices are going up next month.
Personal transponders look like a pretty cool idea. I hope to have one myself someday, but $70-$80 seems like alot especially this time of year.
Then there's the what if ....it quits working, or even misses a lap now and then. They take an awful beating and sometimes they can be damaged and they're not cheap to repair I'm sure.
They're pretty much made to mount in one vehicle and leave there too, right? I believe they get their power from the battery connection on the reciever? Would they be suitable for one persons mulitiple vehicle use, or lets say two people to share between them? Or are they truely "personal" in use?
EvaderAndy 12-24-2003, 11:11 AM  Merry Christmas !
scoutout02 12-24-2003, 01:01 PM hey rick, i need the 4-40 bolt that goes in the front axle of a xxx. can you get that for me? if you have it in stock please bring it to the track. apparently i wrecked or something :D i don't know how, i'm such a good driver. lol thanks and Merry Christmas to all...
OvalmanPA 12-24-2003, 03:24 PM K1M.......I've heard of people using velcro in their vehicles so they can be moved from one to another easily and I suppose they could be shared between people not running the same class. They are pretty small so velcro would probably hold them put very well. Yes they do plug into the battery slot on the receiver. As far as price to get fixed goes. I've never asked AMB about that but it could be expensive, yes. They come with a 3 year warrantee like everything else if I'm not mistaken however. Missed laps on occasion can happen with the "public" transponders as we very well know. :)
Todd........how long is it? Might have one that you can use.
scoutout02 12-24-2003, 03:58 PM 4-40 x 1" button head. p/n A-9952
OvalmanPA 12-24-2003, 08:50 PM I know I don't have any button head screws. I wonder if a regular cap head would work because I have some of those I think. I'll mark that part # down though.
Have a nice Christmas everybody!
http://pennswoods.net/~fortner/sleighline.gif
EvaderAndy 12-25-2003, 12:08 AM Yes they do plug into the battery slot on the receiver.
but that's where my "little helper on my brp plugs in"
EvaderAndy 12-25-2003, 03:31 PM hey Rick
Could you bring a set of those pre mounted green rears on sunday I think TRC tires for my evader?
Thanks Andy
scoutout02 12-25-2003, 07:14 PM Rick are you open Friday? also, could you order me a phobia body and wing for my XXX? thanks
