EvaderAndy 10-14-2003, 07:06 PM hey rick did my batt ridge and bumpers come in yet? OvalmanPA 10-15-2003, 12:04 PM Just ordered them this week buddy. Will be here next. EvaderAndy 10-15-2003, 03:33 PM sounds good  scoutout02 10-19-2003, 08:59 AM hey rick, thanks for the parts and track use. poli and i had a little too much fun in the rain yesterday. i think my truck was acually cleaner than polis buggy. Sugar Daddy 10-19-2003, 11:57 AM Hey Rick... I made a web page and wanted to know if it was ok to link to your page? It's already there, but I can take it out if you want me to. The link to my page should be in the little icons at the bottom of this post. OvalmanPA 10-19-2003, 12:50 PM Sugar D.........anything to get more people to our website man! Todd.....does look like you guys should have quite while you were ahead. The running is fun, it's the cleanup that sucks right? EvaderAndy 10-19-2003, 02:37 PM hey sugar D what's your site's address? Sugar Daddy 10-19-2003, 02:42 PM Click here (http://sdr.vze.com). You can also get it by clicking the WWW button on the bottom of this post. scoutout02 10-19-2003, 03:14 PM not too bad, just took out the electric stuff & hosed her down. the body is mangled however, so i will be needin a new one. i'll let you know when i need it though gotta figure out a paint scheme. :freak: nice buggy sugar d. i love the paint job. how did you set it up for carpet? i'm sure poli would like to know. Sugar Daddy 10-19-2003, 03:23 PM Well... since I have never run on carpet, I'm just guessing. I have 50wt shock oil, stiffest springs I got, and foam tires. Then I lowered the ride height a little. I hope that's enough. Also, I took the graphite arms off. I would rather snap a normal, cheap a-arm, than an expensive graphite one. I'll put the good ones back on for off-road. Jcook 10-20-2003, 12:22 AM Hey Rick, What kinda season and schedule have you got lined up for the winters? OvalmanPA 10-20-2003, 08:22 PM Well unfortunately we won't be getting started until Nov. 23rd. I'll be posting the full schedule on Wed. when I have the whole day to mess with it. EvaderAndy 10-20-2003, 09:02 PM Well unfortunately we won't be getting started until Nov. 23rd. I'll be posting the full schedule on Wed. when I have the whole day to mess with it. Noooooooooooooooooo! I'm having what I had between carpet and off-road last season what did Jim call it oh ya withdraw simtoms. oh well I need to get somemore spacers anyway. I'll probly pick some up when I come to get my jig and bumpers. are they with you I need an excuse to come over. Sugar Daddy 10-20-2003, 09:38 PM  Well... back to chasing the cats around the house. Jcook 10-21-2003, 12:12 AM Gettin a late start this year?...oh well maybe it'll give me a last minute reprieve on my work schedule as I'm working Sun thru Thur 3 pm - 11:30 pm....and hopefully it'll change before season starts. :( Joy 10-21-2003, 07:30 AM  Well... back to chasing the cats around the house. Are you sure you want to go there? Sugar Daddy 10-21-2003, 10:27 AM Your right, that doesn't sound very good! k1m 10-21-2003, 05:20 PM We're having a few "simtoms" ourselves, Andy....so we're gonna try and get together over in Bradford at the park this Sunday (26th) around noon. There are tennis courts for the BuRPs to play on and CanBquick says there's a dirt pile/jump so the trucks can play too. If the weather cooperates, it's sure to ease the pain.... :freak: Anybody else? EvaderAndy 10-21-2003, 05:51 PM look at BRP talk for my reaction OvalmanPA 10-21-2003, 07:43 PM  Well... back to chasing the cats around the house. A joke about a woman and some viagra comes to mind here but this is a family forum! Here kitty, kitty, kitty....... Got your bat. building jig today Shaun. Andy.......your bat. jig and bumpers are here whenever you want to stop by. Sugar Daddy 10-22-2003, 12:27 AM Hey Kim, where in Bradford is the park? I don't remeber seeing one? canbquik 10-22-2003, 02:03 AM When you go toward the hospital, on the left is the school, there is a Crosby's mini mart( on the left )just past the school. Take the left, right after the mini mart go to the end of the road ( it 'T's ' ), go left into the high school parking lot and park..... the basketball courts are right behind the pool. Sugar Daddy 10-22-2003, 03:39 PM Ok, I know where that's at. OvalmanPA 10-22-2003, 05:46 PM Full schedule is now on the website guys. You'll notice that we will be ending points a week early. We are doing this to make it easier when getting names put on plaques. As always, two swap meets and we'll be doing the double points/double racer bucks race again this year. Stop by and look over the rules as there have been a couple changes. We now have two BuRP classes to choose from and there will be NO modifications allowed to chassis' if running the Stock truck class. Any questions or comments on anything you see, just ask away. :) johnqpublic 10-22-2003, 06:02 PM I find it a little suprising that you didnt add a weight rule for the cars. Might make things a lot more competitive. Not everyone is a moron like me and willing to come up w/ a 45 oz. (or less) gearbox car LOL!!! OvalmanPA 10-23-2003, 01:45 PM Hey you are still alive! Ol' lady must be keepin' you busy now?? :) Actually I thought about doing that but decided not to, at least for this year. Of course most people don't stay up at night trying to find a way to lose 5 oz either. :jest: Going to see you at all this year or are you burned out? johnqpublic 10-23-2003, 06:16 PM I was pretty burnt out this summer. And yes, the 'ol lady kept me plenty busy! LOL!! Good news is that I have the itch again and am almost ready to start getting a car ready for carpet, so I will definately be around. You better think more along the lines of losing 10 oz. w/ that 'ol Losi car!! canbquik 10-23-2003, 11:18 PM maybe a 50oz. or 55oz. minimuim wouldn't be a bad idea........ OvalmanPA 10-24-2003, 07:32 PM Oh man, I can hear the bitchin' already if I made it 55oz!! It would probably be more in the neighborhood of 48-50oz if we do it. I'd have to do some weighing of stock cars and the "hybrids". Paul.........she's gots no more to lose matey! johnqpublic 10-25-2003, 12:09 PM 52 oz. is pretty standard in dirt racing. Rick, there's always weight to lose!!! LOL!! LLB 10-25-2003, 10:24 PM Rick... I just want to thank you for changing when the points end... now that I have decided not to race production! Not like there was any pressure last year or anything... I still would have liked to have seen Jahred when he got the 3rd place points plaque! Sugar Daddy 10-26-2003, 10:30 AM Are you guys still going over to Bradford today? I just checked the radar, and it's not looking too good. canbquik 10-26-2003, 11:04 AM Yea, there is a pavilion that is about 25-30'x50' with power, so bring a table, charger, chair, and  have fun!!!!!!!! k1m 10-26-2003, 08:22 PM I think we were about 1 racer short of enough racers for the Collective Desire to Race to kick in, cause damn - did it ever rain! :p Never the less, the six of us found a pretty dry place to have some fun under the big pavilion. Got to see the ugliest cheerleading squad I ever saw.....They were guy players dressed up in skirts....we'll give them the benefit of the doubt, it IS almost Halloween! A little wet around the edges, but it is a nice BIG pavillion with electric. I'd go back there to play anytime. We all pretty much agreed that no matter what compound foam tire you're running it pretty much turns to snot when they get wet! Thanx for lettin us play on your turf, CanBquick! Sugar Daddy 10-26-2003, 10:09 PM You guys said to bring chairs and tables, you didn't say anything about TRACTION! Oh well... next time I hope there is a little less wet, alot more go. canbquik 10-26-2003, 11:02 PM thank all of you for coming over the river and through the woods to get here  It was fun, we'll have to do it again in dryer conditions  You really can't ask for more, shade from the sun ( or rain ), power, and a smooth 25'x50' of concrete  we'll have to have a day set aside for racing there in the summer, and I'll show you all the really fun stuff (e-maxx)..... EvaderAndy 10-30-2003, 07:53 PM hey rick this is kind of a stupid question but if you run say production and oval Brp would it be $10 like it was for production and e-maxx? and is there any word of there being a mini t class? OvalmanPA 10-31-2003, 02:15 PM Andy.....actually it would be $12 like for example if you were running Production and Emaxx ($8 first, $4 second). Now if you are going to race Production and Fun BuRP then yes it would be $10 as the Fun BuRP class is only $2. The Oval BuRP class is just like a normal regular priced class since it is for points and trophies. Hope that explains it? We'll cross the Mini T class road when we finally get them. Horizon says available 11/15 so if they are I should have them soon after. EvaderAndy 10-31-2003, 04:36 PM sounds good  scoutout02 10-31-2003, 08:17 PM I have a dumb question Rick, actually 2, what is the swap meet? and what is a pan car? I saw one in State College and it was made by trinity i think. classic body style. k1m 10-31-2003, 09:39 PM Hey, I can help out with this one Todd....the swap meet is just kind of a pre-race get together. It's a chance to check out the track the night before the first race, do alittle practicing & B.S.ing, and do alittle wheeling & dealing with some of the R/C supplies you may not need anymore. You may even pick up a vehicle, charger or battery that you can use for the upcoming season. A pan car is a carpet vehicle with very limited suspension and usually a straight axle on the rear. The name comes from the flat "pan like" chassis they have. They used to be the premier carpet class because they are purpose built for carpet racing and are still popular at many tracks. Now days you'll see the pan chassis migrating into the buggy and even truck classes on the carpet track. EvaderAndy 10-31-2003, 11:05 PM also at swap meets you could pick up a couple freebies like last year I got 3-4 batt packs and a set of pavement foam tires from K1m and a diff case of el guapo. I love freebies! scoutout02 11-01-2003, 10:12 AM Thanks guys. scoutout02 11-01-2003, 10:52 AM here is another one, why do you run foam tires on carpet? can you use rubber? also, would it be alright if i ran a 1/10 scale indy car, the delphi duratrax one in particular, or won't there be many people doing 1/10? I hate to sound like an idiot, but i just got used to the dirt/nitro thing. electric might as well be Japanese. i was thinkin about the Delphi, because its prebuilt for about $65. ya'll let me now what ya think. i'm open for suggestions. Thanks all. EvaderAndy 11-01-2003, 11:33 AM a definite no for spiked rear off-road tires I tryed that when I first started and every corner I rolled.....and rolled......and rolled till I hit something like the wall. But for the first 4-6 weeks of carpet I used off-road fronts and they worked for awhile but the foams work a lot better as long as you have some of what K1m,Ovalman, and canbquik called I thinks it was love lotion which sofens the foam so it grips better. El Guapo 11-01-2003, 11:59 AM Hey Andy-- :dude: Watch it with that love lotion stuff... there are women who read this stuff. Besides, I think that stuff should be saved for "Sugar Daddy" scoutout02 11-01-2003, 12:03 PM thanks andy, i kinda assumed off road tires would be bad, lol. i mean like slicks and that stuff. canbquik 11-01-2003, 02:39 PM Todd, yes, we use foam rubber tires for all classes on the carpet. For the trucks we use stock rims and remove the inside groove on them , so that there is only the outside edge. We then use 1/10th pan car rear tire donuts ( foam only) and stretch them over the rims. You can buy foam tires for any truck, but they are so tall, sidewall wise, that they chunk very easily!!!!! :( If you go to Rick's website and go to the ' how-to ' section you will see what I'm talking about. As far as compound most all run GREEN ,and traction compound!! Traction compound AKA love lotion, cleans the old foam from the tire surface, so that it can get a better bite. It is used as a tuning agent, if you need a little more bite going into the corner then add some to the right front tire to get it to grip better. Everyone is usually willing to help, but in the end everyone drives different, so what works for one may not for another. Take all advice and try to see what works for you!!! As far as the indy car probably not a good idea. Not to many pan cars run at the track, unless you will be running production then it is pretty much OPEN except everyone has to run a tamiya 540 silver can motor. You'd probably be better off will a truck or buggy if your looking for a vehicle, that way you can also run it off-road this summer. Anymore questions let me know, Chris  scoutout02 11-01-2003, 03:28 PM hey thanks Chris, i didn't really have a clue as to why they used foam on the carpet. as for the indy car, its not a pan car, its got a graphite chasis. i was just wondering if anyone was going to race 1/10 touring type calss. Thanks again. canbquik 11-01-2003, 03:44 PM touring car has pretty much dropped off around this area, so it would be a crap shoot as to when there would be enough to run a class. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
