Drying nicely, drying nicely.........hope to get down later this afternoon to see if there is any raking that needs done. We didn't really have any major rain to speak of, it was just kind of a constant mist to light rain so things should be in good shape for tomorrow.

Another beautiful day for R/C racing at our track and we had a pretty good crowd again. One new record to report. Michael Button showed the way in the Production class with a new record of 9/4:05.28 to which he got beat on by the former record Holder, Joy Fortner for breaking her record. :D Final week of off road racing coming up. It's picnic day so remember to bring your dish to pass and be ready for some trophy racing.

Andy, your truck reminds me of one of my first RC's. I started with a Kyosho High Rise Corvette somewhere back in the 80's. It was pretty but didn't run worth a ......... well, you know. Your new body is nothing short of awesome. Well done.

For the minimal amount I've run it, it's running pretty well.

Sorry, all the new ones are on 75mhz. :( You could just get a new receiver and run both Evaders on the same radio. :)

Hey Savage21--
Just picked up an XB Mitsubishi Pajero from tower, it is the exact cross country chassis found on the Jeep Wrangler and Isuzu Rodeo kits. The Pajero is discontinued and tower still has 'em. Go to tamiyaclub.com and check out some cool stuff on the XC chassis. The reviews say that this will make a formidable and realistic crawler with some minor Hop-Ups!!

OvalmanPA
09-25-2003, 12:57 PM
Andy.....with the paints I use they don't really have anything that is "metallic" but I do have a burgandy color that would probably replicate your Dads truck pretty well. It will probably come with window masks that will include the rear window.

Michael.....if I can't do this design, do you have a backup plan? :)

Hey El Guapo, I hope they have them for a little while. I just spent my money on another car. It's a XXX-KE. Used and shipped for $160. Comes with 3 sets of fronts and 4 sets of back tires. New motor plate, replacment graphite front arm and a couple little items. Here's a pic.

:( It's hard to believe, but we're drawing near the end of the racing season in our area for the summer season already. For all you guys that have threatened to come out and race with us, but never made it, you have one more chance to "show what you've got". Should be a good time as usual, I think it's been a great season of racing this summer. The track layout has proved challenging and still fun. I'm still not sure about sweeping the track, but I think we're all convinced that it takes some moisture to make traction. Speaking of which, the rain we're getting today should make it perfect for tomorrow, and yes the
Collective desire to race will prevail once again as usual!
:p
Oh yeah...also, don't forget to cash in all your racer bux either!

In retrospect, follow this link back - back in time to the beginning of this years season:

I was just bein smart about Sav's "stealth" wing on his new xxx. I didn't see it at first until I looked a lil harder, so out came the smart comment. Rick how many battery's does that JR take? I think I got myself talked into "using" it tomarro. Found out some things about old and new futaba. With Todd's new transmitter and one of my older recievers in the double x we were gettin a ton of glitch. Changin out the motor helped only a little. Got home dialed the esc to my "old" magnum and just about all the glitch dissappeared. So to help a friend out(and to help myself out) I'm gonna take the JR plunge

Savage21
09-27-2003, 09:39 PM
Yeah, when I get it, I'm going to paint it. I'm thinking chrome with the tear-away blue just like the body.

OvalmanPA
09-27-2003, 09:53 PM
Polli.........eight just like all the rest as far as I know. Donalbain says they are battery hogs though. :( You might want to get some of those NiMH rechargables we have here eventually.

Out for the night, we'll see what the morning brings.

Polli
09-27-2003, 11:33 PM
Thanks Rick, I got some NiMH's in my magnum I'll prolly use. I won't be using the servo's so if ya know of anybody lookin for some...

Hey Sav, err "Sugar Daddy", that servo's goin for 40 at Horizon, so how's $30 Sound? I'll drop it off at Rick's Tuesday when I retrieve my checkbook. Rick Thanks for keeping an "eye" on it for me {:> Hey I'm wondering now that I have a 3 channel radio, am I stuck buying 3 channel recievers or can I get a 2 channel? seein's how I havn't "advanced" to the nitro stage where I'd need that 3rd channel

OvalmanPA
09-29-2003, 02:54 PM
Polli.....from my understanding all the current JR receivers are compatable with the XS3 so if any of them are 2 channel they will work. Seems if I'm not mistaken most FM receivers nowadays are 3 channel though. :freak:

Well the off road season has come to an end and it went out with a real bang! The food was good and plentiful that went along with our season ending trophy day and the track couldn't have been in better shape. I bet it was the best it's been all season. Between all of this and Mother Nature giving us one final good day, it was a great end of season race.

We had three new track records with the good track conditions too. First to go was the Stock truck record as Tom Himes once again lowered the time with a run of 11/4:09.95. Next to go was the Production record as Michael Button showed the way with a run of 10/4:22.59 to up his previous record by a lap. Last to go was the 1/10 nitro truck record that had held most of the year. Dean Gordon broke out a great run in the final run of the year and lowered the record to a 15/6:12.17. Great job guys! Well so now it's the long wait till carpet season begins. Everybody get things polished from the off road season and get ready to cut some rug! Thank you to all those that visited us during the off road season and we hope to see you again either during the winter or next summer.

Hey Polli.. I got the buggy today and tore it down, and putting it back together. I'm to the tranny and I can't remeber what gears you are using. Is it 18-82 or 18-84?

Polli
09-30-2003, 12:05 AM
Sugar D, How are ya liking you car so far? I'm kinda wanting to compare the z590m to the Futey 9301 that I have in the triple now any way's. The better one will stay w the car. But I will have an extra servo or two either way, so let me know if you become interested. As far as gearing.... I had it geared a lil low with an 82/18 combo giving me a 11.07 FDR. I was happy with it, but curious what the car would feel like with a lower ratio, since the Green Machine 3 is a high rpm motor
