savage 21 i could not make it to the fair race so what is it that you got

:cool: The Fair race was a huge sucess again this year as usual. The weather was threatening to say the least, but with some positive thinking, alittle perseverence, and a slight delay, dirt oval racing was a big hit at MCFR again. The track had LOTS of traction, the variety of food at the Fair is pretty hard to beat, and hundreds of people got a look at what R/C racing is all about.

Great day for racing even if we did have a couple showers and have to "run the track in" a couple times. Nothing quite like seeing nitro trucks with nothing distingushable but the body line itself. I'll post the full results and those pics tommorrow evening. The new drivers stand is all but done and I think everyone will be happy. You can REALLY see the track well now!

juiced the nitro up with the Byron's, set the high and low, and ran three tanks without a hitch :mad: who says all fuel is the same?

That's why I was really worried about going to O'Donnel fuel. Didn't know how the engine was going to react. Glad you got it running good now. :thumbsup:

hey oval man i was thinkin wouldnt the rear foam tires for the xxxt work on the front also even though they are alittle bigger i am new to electric and i was just wondering if that would work?? oh yah and where can u get your comm cut do you guys have a lathe or do you take it some where??

Knoxville........you can run the same sized foams front and rear, as a matter of fact that is recommended but the wheels themselves are different. The fronts have bearings in the wheels and the rears fit to the axle with a pin so they don't just spin on the axle. I have a lathe to cut motors for anyone at the shop. The charge is $5 and includes cleaning out the can/endbell and reserrating the brushes.

Canbquik........still say if you had a choice you shoulda tried the Maxys of the two we had there. Haven't tried it myself yet (quad gonna be running again soon) but it seems to be pretty reliable for Todd. :thumbsup: Glad all is well now though.

Even with a little rain it was a fun day. Got to run a couple packs through the "new" Maxx and it ran REALLY well, I was pleased. The longest traveled award had to go to Vinnie. The dude traveled down here all the way from Buffalo to race! :freak:

I'm alittle suprised at the lap stats. I don't keep that close of track during the race. Johna's truck sure came to life for the main, huh? What'd ya do, slip her one of those new fangled batterys? The only thing I did to my XXXT was dial alittle more camber into the right side as it was pretty much still setup for off road, except for gearing of course. She ran a good clean race and deserved the win.
I have to say though, the EMaxx race seemed the most exciting. Those monsters are a handful at those speeds. The crowd sure enjoyed all that action. I'm surprised no one landed on that "white" stationwagon that was parked off turn 3 & 4!
Joy said canbquick looked like he needed a hug.....I thought about buyin me one of those weedeaters once....I hit my thumb with a hammer instead!

ok ovalman im proablly being a pain in the @$$ by askin all these questions but i have a set of matt francis or however you spell his name wheels and i was wondering if i could put foams on them i have the ones for the front and the back, and thats cool about the lathe, another question when i got my xxxt it has a 19 turn motor will that put me in the stock class?? and i more question :rolleyes: does your store carry 3000 mah batteries if so how much will it set me back?? sorry for all the questions oh yah and i finally sold my savage!!!

k1m......all she did was a last minute adjustment to the front shock collars and she said it helped a LOT. Ol' XXT still runs good, especially for using 1700s. LOL

Knoxville.......no problem on the questions. This way you'll be all prepaired for your first race. :thumbsup: Yes you can use the Matt Francis wheels to put foams on. As it says on our website, you'll just need to remove the two inner plastic ribs and stretch them aboard. A 19 turn motor will put you in the modified class and for a first timer, to be quite honest, you'll get spanked and frustrated. :( You'd be better off getting a 540 Production motor and starting off with the beginners. Trust me, in the long run, you'll learn to drive much quicker with less power than even a stock motor provides. People hate to hear that but it is completely true. As for 3000s. I have three packs left marked down to our cost so I can hopefully sell them. They are $45 a pack, unassembled so you will also need battery bars, wire, and connectors to build them. Most everyone is going with GP3300 packs now. Have any more ?s, ask away.

Knoxville.......the two most popular 540 motors are the Tamiya "black" Sport tuned motor and the Traxxas Stinger. Both of these motors work very well. I have a standard old 540 silver canned motor in our track truck however and it works pretty well. Right now I don't have any of the Tamiya motors in stock but I have both of the others.

I race production and on carpet I used a tamiya "Black" 540 motor and it did real well I even used it for 2-3 weeks of off-road when some people went threw 4-5 motors a season i think there gearing or someing was causing it tho. but the stinger has a little more kick to it. but the tamiya motor & the Traxxas are pretty comepetive with the right setups. :thumbsup:

Great turnout today and a GREAT day for racing. Talk about beautiful weather! We couldn't ask for anything better. Best race of the day had to be the first few laps of the nitro maxx main, that is until savage21s Savage spit a broken drive shaft out so he only had front wheel drive. :) I'll post full results tomorrow.

Boy must be everybody had some chances to tune on things the last three weeks because we ended up with 4 new track records. First to go was the Stock buggy record. Adam Hamilton showed the way in the main and just squeaked in a new record with a run of 11/4:24.14. Next to go was the Stock truck record formerly held by myself. Tom himes put up a real good run in the second qualifier and smashed my record by a lap. 11/4:22.65 My rein of record holding didn't end there as Courtney Morse showed up with a spankin' new EMaxx and smoked my record with a run of 10/4:19.72 Last on the list of records was for the Nitro Maxx class. Tom Himes was on a tear and lowered his previous record with a run of 14/6:05.96, down 5 seconds from his previous record. A great day it was for some off road racing. I hope the rest of the season proves to be as nice as this race was. It was good to see everybody after our short season intermission while the weather got straightened out and it seemed like everyone liked the new drivers stand. I know I have to get used to driving from up in the air now though!

hey guys knoxville here and i was wondering if anybody is interested in buying a losi xxxt i got its almost brand new comes with charger and a 1500 pack and a 2000 pack that needs a little bit of work but the pack does work i also have rear racing slicks and the set of mini pins that came with it i also have matt francis front wheels the back have the slicks on them if ur interesed let me know oh yah it comes rtr
