Wow. That is nice. Think the orange is red painted over white?

Looks remarkably similar to a streamlined BMW 328 Raodster from the '30's.

Did the other two colours ever come with unpainted bases?

Steve...that is my thought, I can remeber back a in depth topic on the toy, I think it was on the inside the web site many years ago, or possibly another site.

I can not recall ever seeing any raw base casts of the Red or White Jags, but I would put a call on myself if I thought "my thoughts" were ever 100 % correct in the arena of Lesneys output.

Good question. Stannard only mentions black bases for off-white and red bodies.

Had a conversation with a friend (50 years of collecting experiance), his Orange Jag is also a raw based model...

His Red and White Bases are also as Mike S denotes, so I am under the assumption, it is correct....black, can't be of any further help.

Steve, Maybe your friend will join us here? :)

Interesting - this is the first time I see a 32A with an unpainted base. Impossible to tell from the picture alone if it is genuine, but as always with Matchbox: anything is possible!
