AS I said please forgive me, but there's 44 pages to search through and my head is starting to hurt :freak:
Here is the deal; It's been awhile since I tried working on a small engine, but at the cost of repairs these days it behooves me to give it a shot myself first.

I have a 2-1/2 year old Toro 6.5HP Recycler walk behind mower. All has been fine and we've run it at least 6 times so far this season.
The other day it ran out of gas. I got fresh, poured it in and it started fine., Ran about 40 seconds and sputtered out. Primed the bulb 3 times and it started fine, same thing again. It continues to do this. If I prime it , it runs and then dies. It's obviously not getting a steady flow of gas. Before I start mucking around I want to know where the carb. is so I can check the gasket in the bowl, fuel line, choke etc. I need a manual to figure out where all these parts are and how to take them apart so I can put them together again, with no parts left over!

The engine is a Tecumseh LV195EA. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

I am going to the library tomorrow to get a small engine manual, hopefully that and you experts can help me figure and repair this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

In re-reading my post, I would think I would be getting answers, but perhaps it looks like I am actually looking for a manual. That would be nice, but instead I am actually looking for advice on how to figure out the problem, and perhaps how to take apart the items in question without having parts left over. So any thoughts?
Thanks.

Sounds like trash got sucked up in the carb... Take the fuel line (crimp it) off at the carb, let it go real quick and watch for good flow first though. Might have a in tank filter, its basically a mesh screen at the outlet.

Hey chrose

To me it sounds like the ports in your carb could be blocked by debris I have had the same problem with my older Eager-1 lawnmower.

If it is a bowl type carb I would take out the nut in the bottom of the bowl and let the gas drain out, than take the bowl off and be careful not to loose the needle it can drop out.

Next clean out all the ports with a toothpic (not wire could damage parts) and make sure to clean the holes in the nut.

Than put it back together and replace any broken gaskets and should run like new.

If that doesn't work it could be a clogged filter.
