Greetings,
I'm a new member although I have visited here before. I now have a problem and hopefully one of you kind folk can point me in the right direction. My Charger 12 Wheel Horse tractor circa 1968 needs some attention. The bearing seized in one of the pulleys that transfers the power to the mower deck so I figured that I would just drop the whole deck and sharpen the blades, grease it up and do a few patch welds here and there while I'm waiting for the part to materialize at the dump. I'm pretty sure I can find a pulley or bearing there (lots of mower decks seem to end up there) but the real problem is the clutch plate that drives the deck. After dropping the deck and knowing it was to late to check the dump for parts I figured I would just use the tractor with the deck to haul the cart around and take leaves out to the back. I neglected to put the lever back that actuates the clutch not knowing that it also held that drive pulley and clutch assembly together. After I drove it about 100 yards or so through the woods, the pulley flew off and buried itself in the soft soil. I picked it up and cursed myself and then headed back to the house. About 20 feet from where I started, I saw pieces of the clutch plate on the ground, and only pieces. I can't imagine what made it fly apart like that but it did. So now I need a new clutch plate and I am guessing flat head rivets to hold it on. does anybody have any ideas where I might look for such a thing? I googled wheel horse parts and got a bunch of eBay auctions and a bunch of other things that have nothing to do with what I need. Thanks for any tips!
