I thought I read in one of the old magazines that the screws were for front end weight adjustments... These allowed even wear on the front tires when running on high banked curves. I could be wrong? :confused:

Nah! Its a Death Race 2000 TJET from 1968. I'll bet if you look at thos screws under a microscope you will see bits of army green plastic.
