Technically, its a Luft '46 'Schnellbomber' (Planet Models 1/72 Henschel P.87) so for the fastidious, please excuse the somewhat fantastic nature of this posting. In any case, the first step in assembly involves the cockpit. I could research the bejeepers out of this, but to speed things along, if someone could give me a quick & dirty color chart for a late war Luftwaffe bomber interior, I'd appreciate it. I'm never going to show the model to a rivet counter, so best guesses are fine, since I know all about fading through use, differences due to a/c type, availability (or lack thereof) of paints, etc. Thanks in advance...

Well, that's easy - all Luftwaffe cockpit interiors were RLM 66 black-gray. Testors has the color in its ModelMaster line. The closest approximate, if you can't get 66, is USAF Eurpoean 1 Gray. If you want to make it a little lighter so you can see detail, use Gunship gray.

Wheel well interiors should be RLM 02 Gray/green. There really is no other color much like it, though. ModelMaster Light Sea Gray is kinda close, but 02 is darker. You could ass Olive Drab to Lt Sea Gray and get an approximation.

Here's my P.87:

Hey thanks. I've seen your models. To say that your efforts are the inspiration for my project doesn't quite cover it... 'preciate the reply. --AJ
