I have been a patch collector, since the 70's. I have them from many TV series, and movies. I have below the last one for my collection. I bought it from E Bay, and it is from the series Rocky Jones Space Ranger, seen in 1954.

I have many more I can show,if interested. I would like to see other collector's patches.

Neat stuff! I especially like that CMDF patch.
Cool that you have an accurate Moonbase Alpha patch - there are a million bad ones out there.

^^Yeah! I noticed that, too! The bad ones are really noticably bad when compared to the correct patches.

The one on the left is from Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, on the right is from Stingray, both by Gerry Anderson. On the bottom, everyone's favorite. :p

Did that version of the Alpha Moonbase patch come free with the model kit of the Eagle or did you have to order it? I wound up with one or two of those patches many years ago but can't remember what the deal was.

The Alpha Moonbase patch that you could get when you bought the MPC Eagle kit cost $1.50 (I think) and had "ATV" in large white letters under the moon on the patch.
Still have mine, but was disappointed that they couldn't find a more unobtrusive place for the copyright.

Lloyd Collins

My Alpha patch did not have the logo under the moon, and I did order it from MPC.

Here are four more patches. The one on the top left, is from V the mini-series.

Lloyd,

Do you have those in framed displays? I bet they'd look pretty good against a red or blue felt background in a picture frame.

Lloyd Collins
05-19-2006, 04:39 PM
Not framed yet,I need to get UV glass to keep them from fading.

On the photo below, top right is a crew patch for the movie, FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON. Bottom left is from the DinoRider Fan Club, and on the right is from a C64 game.

Don't get me wrong--I love all these patches--but it strikes me as funny sometimes the things patch makers come up with: patches that could never have been worn in the context of the fictional stories being dramatized. They're still cool but, for example, who but a fan would be wearing the Batman patch? In the movie, I hardly think the butler would go around with it on his hat or jacket.

Lloyd Collins

It was on an episode of Batman the Animated Series, that in a store window, they had Batman merchandise. So as you say, a fan will only wear it. Glad you like the patches.

I also collect real space patches, some muzzleloading hunting patches, and what ever patch catches my eye.

Yea! For both eyes. I wonder why it is always dark?

I thought I would show all of my TOS Battlestar Galactica patch and pins.
Also, the front and back of a Cubit, the money they use.

I remember back in the early 80's when you could buy an entire Colonial Warrior uniform off the back page of a comic book and Starlog magazine. They had the jacket and pants made out of tan corduroy.

Lloyd Collins

I still have the Starlog with the ad. Back then I was a teenager, and no money. I had wanted one.

A friend of mine had the jacket with all the insignia attached in the mid 1980s. Not sure if it was THAT jacket or a fan made jacket but it looked really good.

Do you know any place, or possiby have a spare cubit lloyd? I have everything you have (i.e. the patch and both silver and gold ensigna pins) except the cubit. Would love to finish my collection:) Do you collect military patches as well?

Lloyd Collins
05-27-2006, 01:52 AM
I don't have an extra cubit, but I found sites for you.

Here are three patches sold by Lincoln Enterprises in the 70's, from the Kung Fu series.
Of course the patches were never used in the series, but nice to have.

I've always had the weirdest feeling from these patches ever since I first saw them. I've wondered, "just who would wear these things?" Kung fu experts? I'd be very intimidated if I saw those on someone's jacket, I think. :p

Lloyd Collins

I need to put them on a jacket, just to intimidate you! ;)

What do you expect, with a patch that says SEA on it.

The patch is mint, must be the scanner.

What a fun thread!!! I've got a number of the 2010 patches myself. Should track those down again. I DID wear those on a jacket, for years!!

Be sure to knock the dirt off!

Here is a quiz. The two Revenge/Yoda patches, which is the one released in the 80's by the fan club, and which is from a convention in the 90's? The small round one is from the 1st fan club kit. All the others were bought from the club in the 80's.

Really nice! I see ST patches I don't have, and I like the SG1/Atlantis ones.
I have been worried about the patches, fading over time in the frames. Where can I find UV protected picture frames? Having them framed, is the only way to enjoy them. Thanks for sharing! Anyone else?

PerfesserCoffee

Nice frame job and patches! I did a halfway job on a frame job a few years ago but took it apart when I got sick of looking at it.

Actually I like the Star Trek patches a bit better because I put those in a shadow box, but I couldn't find one small enough for my Stargate stuff, but I guess I could always go back where I got them and get the SG-2 through SG-12 patches to fill it up...but I though simpler would be better.

UMMM...I don't smell anything!
Nice ST collection of patches. I don't have the bottom three. You might know that the one with the red cross, was only worn by Nurse Chapel. The other two I never noticed.

I was to see other collectors patches. I got more to post.

PerfesserCoffee

Yeah, the medical badge--from what I recall of a pic I've seen somewhere--is actually tapered at the four ends of the cross. The other two on the bottom, I'm not sure were ever seen but were in the FJ Tech Manual (where the UFP crest originated) and I like any variation on the STOS arrowhead emblem so I got them.

I'm wondering where is a good place to get decent patches, I've got an idea for a couple of displays for models. Specifically what I'd need is Nostromo and Logan's Run. Thanks a bunch guys.
