I have a Briggs 19.5 engine on my Craftsman tractor. It popped the intake valve seat after overheating from a mouse nest in the cooling fins. After reading some of the sage advise given here I put the seat back in place and peened around it as directed. The good news is the engine runs nicely again. The bad news is that it has a loud-ish tapping coming from the same cylinder that wasn't there before. I'm guessing that something is out of adjustment now in the valve train? Any more advice on what (and how) to do next would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The valves could very much need adjusting, http://faqs.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/faqs.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3441&p_created=1101860144
briggs has a little page on it.
