View Full Version : Recent announcements in R.O.A.R.
Scarecrow One 05-14-2006, 11:30 AM First I would like to thank all the Track owners and Clubs for allowing me to be the Race Director/Announcer at many of the R.O.A.R. Nationals.
In recent weeks, R.O.A.R. has put together a new Race Management Team.
This new team will be performing all the duties of putting on a R.O.A.R. National Event.
With this new announcement, I will not be able to do what I have done in the past at R.O.A.R. National Events.
I will and hope to see Everyone at many other OutStanding Events around the Country.

amusicwiz 05-14-2006, 01:06 PM ROAR has recently put organization of National events into the hands of a manufacturer (Doug Hay) of race management software. This MAY mean that his software product becomes the product of choice to run the national events. That COULD BE a very dangerous move for ROAR.
My 2 cents worth!

JH Racing 05-14-2006, 01:07 PM Roar Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PUF19 05-14-2006, 01:25 PM That is a MAJOR LOSS, as Kenny is the best race announcer I have ever herd in 25+ years of racing!!!

David Butts 05-14-2006, 03:59 PM Wish you could be here next week Ken. The voice of FOCAR, MTR and that other little race, Da'Birds:thumbsup:
Rick Liehr 05-14-2006, 06:13 PM Hmmm.............sounds stupid to me. But look at their recent turnouts too. You would think they would have better things to do. Oh well see ya at Sandhills or the Snowbirds!!!!

burbs 05-14-2006, 07:26 PM Actually Doug Hay is one hell of a guy.. I dont see him dropping any balls.. But You all may get lucky as well and get the best anouncer in the world.. Doug hay is from wisconsin, and does all his testing at trackside.. Scotty ernst owns trackside.. If any of you have ever heard him anounce, you know your in for a treat..
katf1sh 05-14-2006, 09:27 PM kenny does the announcing for 90% of our oval races and the snowbirds oval portion. scotty seems to have ties with the on-road nerds. i pick kenny he he
burbs 05-15-2006, 02:57 AM Ive never heard Ken announce, so i cant compare him to anyone.. Ive been fortunate to hear scotty any time i want.. I wasnt knocking ken, just stating what i thought may happen..
Scarecrow One 05-15-2006, 04:04 PM I did not start this thread for any reason other than that R.O.A.R has a new R.M.T. to do all the R.O.A.R National Events.
There are many great announcers around the country, along with many tracks, that want to put on Nationals events.
There are also many Scoring programs that a lot of track use that they as track owners and clubs have a comfort level with.
IFMAR and R.O.A.R write the rules for scoring and the Programs follow thoses rules.
As I said I hope see alot of you at many upcoming Great Events around the Country in the Future.
Mr.fastman 05-16-2006, 07:44 PM Scarecrow - I'm already looking forward to your announcing at Ovalmasters.
