Its official just got off the phone with Dale and we are planning a mid summer test and tune for all day Sunday JULY 23rd.................. If you are like me and missing some carpet fun, then this is the day for you to be here. Official start time is 1pm but we will be there at 9am for you early risers, the cost is $7 for all day testing and tuning. We will have the computer setup to run for you to get soem times and check yourself on how your tuning is going. Its not an official race day just racers saying hello during the summer dusting their equipment off and having fun.

The one thing we ask is keep it legal you guys know what you have to do to run legal so do it........... NO TECH just trying things out and testing new systems (Brushless) or getting some of those past bugs worked out BEFORE next season actually starts.

I will be working for a battery deal so let me know and I can get us some good batts for cheap if you do not have any and if you have them bring them.

NO NEED IN GETTING THE "BEST ON THE MARKET" stuff being that this is testing and tuning. But I will be there and those of you who know me I will have some stuff of course with me.........

SO COME ONE COME ALL.........................

Summit Raceway, Fort Wayne, IN Sunday July 23rd for some good ole carpet fun................... I am looking forward to it for sure...............

JBR Cells is giving some door prizes, and I will have his cells there with me if you have ever wanted to try them out, this would be the time to check his stuff out I promise you wont be sorry................... I will also myself be giving some door prizes.

SO COME ONE COME ALL should be fun and could spark and once a month thing just to stay a tune to the R/C Oval world.............

As far as the classes go, i know that brushless is being added, but what about the classes from last year, are they going to drop any ? And what about the spec motor rules ?

latemodel100
05-17-2006, 08:12 PM
Good question, it is my understanding right now that Dale is looking into a setof rules that will allow us to race anywhere else in the country or at least some other tracks around the midwest. So as far as rules for next season I am not forsure I can let Dale answer that but I know he is gathering info right now to make up a good set of standard rules across the board............ And as far as classes go I am under the impression that all the classes will still be available until further notice. One of the big questions right now is batteries 3800's or 4200's for those respective classes........

So stay tuned and alot of good things can come form this test and tune........

swampy...what brushless motor are you guys running/planning on running? 5800? Hi hydroracer. Arcor and the Midwest Brushless Pro Series are using the 4300 motor so in order to try and keep within the same rules Summit will be using this motor also. Hope your enjoying your summer.

Ok I deleted the body idea I do not want this to become a thing......... sorry just suggested something.......... I see two folks say no so its all good....

alexaj46
06-19-2006, 08:11 AM
No.No.No, Spec should stay as an open body class, we don't want to make the rules
that no other tracks uses, thus limit keeping it so that out of towners will come to this track...

latemodel100
06-19-2006, 11:20 AM
Good deal Alexaj46, I truely understand.......... thanks for the input.....

Ditto to what Jim said. My son comes with me when I race carpet and he runs Arca and I really don't want to have to buy 2 or 3 different bodies to conform to different tracks here in Indiana. I hope to make it up that way this yr. several times have heard really good things about Summit.

The big question of the summer as usual is "what batteries are going to be legal this coming season" ???? Anybody here anything from the sanctioning bodies on this.

muddd
06-26-2006, 10:16 PM
i PERSONALLY THINK ANY SUB C CELL BATTERY SHOULD B RAN! for all the guys who already bought 4200's, i dont hav any yet but will hav some soon, for stock, 19t, brushless, touring, etc, guys the battery war is going to keep goin higher, next year at the end of the season itll b 4300, what do u do!

just my 3 cents, 3800,or 4200 whatever u got

I agree with Muddy, come January ROAR and everyone else will OK them. By this time next year 4600's will be out there. I'm still running 3800's also but that is because all the majors this summer require it. No sense buying cells in the fall and then have to do it again in January for weekly club racing.

OK I have been apporached about having a race later in the night, something to the effect of 2 heats and a Main just to maybe see how things are going and how you are testing...... Kinda of get things started for the new season coming up.

Let me know how everyone feels about this.........

Thats why i think you should post it different, guys come racin for the fun of competition, dont think many are gettn pumped up about practice, now if it was posted test & tune till say 7, and racing starts at 730, 3 cars makes a class 2 heats an a main, more guys might attend because so much goin on in the summer! Its just my 3 cents, hope im not being a pain in the ass!

im sure from what im hearing there will b enough people to run in stock, just thinking if it was called a race it might pull more people in different classes , just tryin to help

brushless????4300 or 5800 Two or more will make a class that sunday. I mentioned on a earlier post 4300 will be a main class at our raceway this coming season but this will be for everyone running oval that wants to come.
