I have a 13.8 volt 20 amp power supply. I was wondering if I could use it for 1/32 scale cars?

Roddgerr 05-13-2006, 05:24 PM Thank you. I read in another thread that you could run an Eldon 6 volt car on 12 or more volts without a proablem. I tried it and fried the motor. I saw on a Revell package that it's 12 volt. I'll have to start running good cars. Thanks again. gonegonzo 08-11-2009, 10:49 AM Hey Roger, Good seeing you on here. We have ran Scalextric cars on a 12 volt battery , however the olde cars, Eldon etc may have had different voltages even between the cars of that era , Eldon VS Strombecker etc. Gonzo RMMseven 08-11-2009, 02:37 PM That should be a good power supply, I have run my four lane Artin track with a 13.6 volt 4 amp. With 20 amps you beeter have some fuses too. Most vintage race sets had 12 volt power supplies, there are a few exceptions (like Eldon) but the vintage cars run really great with 12 to 14 volts. Most new 1/32 scale sets have rather high voltage 14 or even higher volts but have pretty weak amperage. In other words I think you'd be better with you 13.6 volt 20 amp PS than any of the other stock power paks. This might help too ==> http://www.homeracingworld.com/throttlecontrol.htm billyboy46 08-26-2009, 09:48 PM Kind sir, Definately not Eldon which has a 3 volt motor ( 3 plus 3 = 6 volts which equals the transformers voltage ). cheers, Bill:o vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
