View Full Version : Police Vehicles
kevinmtg 05-09-2006, 04:16 AM A newbie here
I have been collecting for only a short time. I really like police vehicles. I have a lot of the Jada cars, Hot Wheels Cop Rods, I am looking for other types or series go collect.
Does Johnny Lightning offer police vehicles?
Does anyone else collect?
Any recommendations?
HWJOE 05-09-2006, 08:20 AM I know JL has already made a 1974 Dodge Polara 440 police car, a 1961 Ford Police car form the Andy Griffith show (long ago), also a Ford F-350 police tow truck. They also had a boxed police car set with 5 different cars. ANd a long past 2car set with a police car/hot rod lovers lane setting. I hope this helps.

jedimario 05-09-2006, 08:41 AM HW has also offered quite a few in 5-packs and their normal line. If you look hard enough, there're plenty out there, like this one from a 5-pack, my personal favorite, and probably not too hard to find-

Yes -
Matchbox #55 is a 1961 Ford Fairlane in either navy or royal blue - these tend to be expensive but are nice toys;
#55 became a Galaxie and then a 1968 Mercury sedan, which lasted into the superfast era before a Mercury station wagon replaced it. The Mercury sedan re-appeared even in the 80s, however.
Majorette had a very nice 1969 Plymouth Fury and, believe it or not, Lone Star even made a 1963 Imperial police car.
There is a 1960s Hot Wheels Plymouth Fury with red line tires that is probably somewhat scarce.
mn_dodgeboy 05-09-2006, 03:21 PM JL made some police cars like the Camaro Nevada patrol, and a Michigan Tahoe and such. there are also many 1:43 police cars from around the world.
rlyoung1 05-09-2006, 03:34 PM JL has made a few police vehicles

Jstar 05-10-2006, 05:57 PM Johnny Lightning by far as the most realistic police dicast. Check out my webiste of some real police cars. Welcome to HobbyTalk.

wnovess99 05-15-2006, 08:13 AM Road Champs made 1/43 police cars during the mid-late 90's. They made all 50 states as Fords and Chevys. They had a 57 Ford too. Racing Champions had a line of 1/64 police cars, they did state and city. Not all of them were 100% accurate but still pretty nice. I know I still have some of these.
Patrolman 05-15-2006, 10:40 PM Speccast have line of 1/64 scale Crown Vics. They are without doubt the best range of 1/64 police vehicles available. You can still get them at places like Everstoystore.com.
mb has a magnom wagon police car thanks look's good!!
retrowheels 05-18-2006, 12:28 PM Racing Champions did about 1 zillion different police vehicles. I forget the lines name but I think it was simply "Police". Search Ebay - They are some pretty nice cars.

wrxinsc 05-18-2006, 04:45 PM Autoart does police cars..mostly crown vics with some others thrown in

Patrolman 05-19-2006, 10:52 AM The Racing Champions line was called "Police USA" ran from 1998 to around 2000. Pretty good series, was just starting to get real good when they cancelled it. They had just introduced a 1999 Crown Vic, 1992 Chevy Caprice and a ton of SUV's when it was put out to pasture. Maybe with Johnny Lightning and ERTL now being one they should release a new law enforcement series using the castings of both companies, 1991 Ford Ltd, 1974 Dodge, 1997 Ford Crown Vic, 1999 Crown Vic, Chevy Tahoe, Ford Bronco, the list goes on and on.
.
Auto Art do mainly 1/18 scale cars, I think the only smaller scale police car they have done is the 1/43 scale Italian Police Lambo.
jlspec 05-19-2006, 09:16 PM JL had the Americas Finest and American Blue Series. If you are interested in any LMK
Thanks
