I noticed that the support rod going from the bottom of the tray for the reciever to the trans mount was stripped where it goes into the trans so I tightened it a little on the eyelets and put a fine thread screw in it. Also, I noticed when I applied the brake that the motor twisted a little bit so I tightened down the motor mounts and bolts and tried to get the gear mesh a little tighter even though the gears are chopped (there are still a little teeth left and new ones are on the way). Just doing a little experimentation to see how to get the proper gear mesh. I have heard of it being done the paper way and I am going to try that here in a couple minutes. Other than the gear problems, this thing RIPS! It has a Torq .16 engine in it and All T's mounted on HPI rims. The stock rims and tires are on my Rustler but they are so bald it isn't even funny. Alright, just an update...I ran it one more time after I did the paper gear meshing thing. The 52 tooth spur is TOTALLY flat now so I'm guessing that it is 1st gear. But it shifted just fine and was MOVING. Obviously I need to take it back to the LHS and talk to him about getting the gear mesh just right when I get the new gears. Or I should just break down and buy the aluminum ones for $60 :-(. http://www.duragears.com/pdtmt.htm

Hey guys, just an update. Got the new gears in again and installed them along with another brace that sits on top of the original brace to the radio plate and the gear meshing is perfect now. No stripped gears anymore. This thing is fast as hell. Problem is is the it sticks in second sometimes, sometimes it stalls and makes a loud clicking sound like the tranny is trying to engage second gear too soon. But sometimes it'll start in second gear and it takes ALOT to get it going, sometimes it starts in first and takes off like a bat out of hell, and sometimes it just stalls because you can hear the gear selector trying to shift while it is idling or revving to get going. It makes a loud clicking sound. What is happening is the centrifugal clutch is engaging while it's idling trying to shift to the second gear. Don't know what I should do. There is an adjustment screw but I don't know how to adjust it. Anyone have any ideas?
