With the help of several "CustomOutlaws" and other Diecast connections i've been able to stockpile several hundred of these 1/64 COE's for future projects..

Great castings.

Here's a couple I've been working with to develop paint schemes.

I like those, but my favorite is the "Eat A Peach." I've been an Allman Brother's fan since the first days. I was priviledged to see Duane perform twice. I consider it in the top three performances I ever witnessed. The first being "Pearl." She made me cry and still does. It would be a thrill to be able to see some old footage of his concerts. You know Bill Graham HAS to have some.

Is the Allman Brother's Band and the Eat A Peach the same truck with the bed cover flipped over?

Hey CH, where yat,
Yes the add on bed covers have two sides to them. I cut them from styrene plastic, painted them with HOK SnowWhite Pearl, decalled both sides and then cleared them with HOK clear. Vampirella and Outlaws also are reversible.

I've seen the Allman's many times. Love 'em.
Used to see them for free when they played on top of the levee in New Orleans by Audubon Zoo back in 1970.
Sat and drank several times with Greg on Bourbon St. in the late 90's.

I could only post a few pics at once. Here's another Allman Band pic.
Each sliding bed cover slides back to reveal a hidden decal.

I can't pick just one I like, so I'll say I like them all.
Awesome decaling work, and craftsmanship.
Wish I could find a few of those COEs around here.

Is that a late Allman Brothers concert pic or one with Duane?

I firmly believe, had he survived we would have been listening to a totally different type of music today. Have you heard Robert Randolph? If you haven't, you need to. Its like Hendrix plays Allman Brothers on pedal steel guitar. Its every bit as exciting as the old Allman Brothers music wise. Vocals and lyrics are a bit weak but the music blows you slam damn away. This guy just plain don't stop!!!! Saw him in a little low dive concert hall in Charlotte last year and it was plum scary. You'd think he'd gone as far with a lick as he could possibly take it. Then he'd bump it up a nothch. Then he'd do it again and again. Three hours non stop! Wore my butt out! Felt GOOOOOOD.

Oh! And yeah I'm jealous. I can say Toy Caldwell played my '46 Gibson LG one night at Mickey's in Spartanburg.

Not just going to concerts Cowboy,
Hanging out with Alvin Lee and Ten Years After, Robert Plant and Jimmy Paige, and Eric Burdon and the Animals.
All this going on in the French Quarter in New Orleans, center of the universe.
You missed the most important cultural revolution in 2000 years, 1965 - 1975.

Just do a search for, "Why Couldn't I Have Been A Teenager When All The Action Was Going On", you'll love reading about it.

35 yrs old has to be a tough one. You missed the Freak Fest and got stuck with Van Halen and Motley Crue.

Cmon man, post some pics of those WIPs!!!!!!!!!

We'd go to a concert about everyother week. Didn't cost anymore than $10.00 to $15.00 to see people like "Hendrix", "The Allman Brothers", "Marshall Tucker" ("Toy Factory"), "Mountain" "Cactus", "Janis Joplin". God! She was the greatest. One of the coolest things was, I saw "The Doobie Brothers" as a back up band for "America." Not my favorite bands but they were good. What was so cool was a "head shop" in Gastonia named "Purple Haze" was giving tickets away if you bought a pair of pants. They also gave you a Warner Brothers 7 album called "Together." Some killer cuts with folks like Long John Baldry, The Doobies and others. Probably the ugliest pair of pants I ever owned. Purple cordory bell bottoms :freak:

I really feel sorry for this generation of folks younger than 25. They have no music to speak of that will carry them into their middle years and old age. Great music is timless. Not all of ours was "great." But it had lyrics that was set to a melody. Not much of that going on any more.

Yeah I'm gettin' old too.

CH,
When you have a foundation of rich culture, you don't get old, you get better.

Used to drive in from college at Nicholls State in Thibodeaux, La , to New Orleans to go to the WareHouse to see Osibisa, Joe Cocker, Jethro Tull, Allman Bros, Donovan, Moody Blues, for 2 bucks a ticket.

The Animals used to play at City Park during the Love-Ins in '67.
The Patchouli oil was flowing like wine.

Yeah, had a bright blue pair of those same corduroy bell bottoms with cuffs on them. Jacket to match.

Luckily I grew up listening to alot of the people/groups you guys have mentioned, Some I have never heard of :freak:. But I developed a love for the "Oldies" along time ago so even though I never got to see them in concert, like you said the music is timeless and more and more I find myself listening to it because I can't really stand very much of the new stuff. And ya what the heck were people thinking as far as fashion goes in the 60's/70's LOL.....OK and in early 80's:p

Cough!!! Hack!!!! Wheeeeze. Gaffaw:lol:. Like there's a great fashion statement being made today? Personally I'd just soon see Dingo's and boot cut Fly's come back as to see some guys underware sticking out of the top of the pants hanging off their butt cheeks. It don't bother me personally how someone dresses. But don't think I don't laugh and make fun at it. That's what I told my son too. It's OK for females...Yeah I got a double standard. Oh! The reason they put a bill on a baseball hat is to keep the sun out of the eyes.

I didn't appreciate the '61, Chevy, Bel Air, bubble glass, 2dr, HT I had back in '67. It only had a 283 and a 2 speed. Wish I still had it now. Wish even more I still had the '55, 2dr, HT I traded the '61 for. 327 Vette motor. I changed over the 2spd "Slip.O.Matic" for a 3spd std and left the automatic rear-end. That was the first heavy mechanicing I ever did. Couldn't afford the insurance on a 4spd. She wasn't much on the 1/4. High 15's. But by the 1/2 she was just hittin' the high spots. Traded it for an MG Midget MkIII I still have. Approximately 500,000+ miles on it. Can't really say for sure. It kept ringing the speedo off everytime it got over 100mph. Its ready for its foruth genisis now; but at the last engine overhaul the engine was still std.

I suppose its a testimony to the styling of that era that your seeing so many retro cars. But it could be they're just styling for a ripe market of baby boomers.

CH, Are we the only two people that know how a baseball cap is supposed to be worn,

I had 3 MGB's in '69 and '70.
Worked on them every Saturday morning. Had to.
Had to drive one 12 miles by sitting on the front fender with the hood up and pulling on the throttle cable, while someone else sat behind the wheel and steered. GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.

Yeah, ain't it amazing how we picked our cars for style instead of trying to make them look and sound as ridiculous as possible.

We only used one hand sign when I was a teenager and it was universally understood.

Sorry 'bout dragging this thread down memory lane but that's just where that ABB COE takes me.

Yeah the MG took some regular tinkering but I can say it never took me from point "A" to point "B" without bringing back to "A." That's not to say that sometimes it absolutely refused to leave point"A." But anytime it failed it was usually my fault. Bad engine to chassis ground being the biggest culprit. The only one time it failed on the road was because I didn't get a condensor tightend down good enough. The shop R&R'd a fuel pump. When I found the trouble, is when I decided to start working on sports cars for a living. Never had one of my cars in someones elses garage since.

My biggest complaint and inherient flaw (besides wiring...Oh Lucas Lord of Darkness; hear us as we curse your name...) was the brakes or hydralics as a whole. During its 500,000 + miles the "Fidget" has probably only had good brakes for about 300,000. The rest were either questionable or I used a combination of gearing down, hand brake and sometimes dragging my foot! Coming back from a Gatemouth Brown and Vasser Clements show about 3:00AM I was hitting around 85mph coming up State Line Road about a mile below my house. "Yes baby....I'd been drinkin'" But that wasn't the issue. I hit the brakes to make the stop sign and heard that sickning click when the pedal hit the floor. I had enough time to say "Oh Sheet!" Grab second and swing the turn. I kissed the stop sign with my right 1/4 and exchanged paint. That brought me out side ways across the road into the side ditch. I'd of motored on without further incident but some jackass stuck the State Line sign in my way. WHAM!!! Screwed the body up pretty bad but she still made it home. Swapped the drive train out to another that week end and they are still a happy couple. But with an MG you can either drive it 2 years and R&R the hydralics or let it set several months and R&R the hydralics. Same with the wiring but usually you just have to clean those stupid Lucar connectors and grounds. "If Brittania ruled the waves why couldn't they make a car that would go through a mud puddle???"

Again sorry to use your post for war stories but it was your excellent work that got me thinkin'.

CH,
Took my first one completely apart in my parents garage. Just like a model car. Took out the brake lines and wiring harness. Everything, gauges and every last nut and bolt.
Reupholstered it in leopard skin and reassembled it and it ran just fine. I had a huge box of parts leftover in the corner of the garage.
Just goes to show ya, British Leyland used too many parts.

I have to say those are awesome.... I find threads like this interesting as it helps us know one another on a more personal level. Thanks for sharing the photos and stories.

Now, CustomOutlaws? I'm taking forgranted its in Texas? Bummer, just too far for me to drive... I guess...

Feel free to promote it here. If you have a large enough following, you may want to think about sponsoring this board. I think the cost is 50 per month.

again nice work...

Where yat Kenny,
Our "CustomOutlaws" group is spread out all over the U.S..
We have a member in Australia and a member in Mexico City.
Each year our membership dues ($100) goes toward making a package of Custom cars and T-Shirts for each member.
Our first year, 2005, coincided with the Texas Regional Diecast Convention in San Antonio, Texas.
Our then membership of 20 Customizers, Collectors, and overall Car Enthusiasts, each received a Customized '57 Cadillac, Gold Plated '57 Cadillac, Customized Tooned '69 Camaro, and an ordered to fit T-Shirt printed front and back with multiple colors.
We also gave away 100 fully Customized '57 Cadillacs to Convention ticket holders at a huge party on the lat night of the Convention. Each Caddy was adorned with Jada wheels.

I organized a Customs Build-Off that was sponsored by the House Of Kolor who sent paint, banners, T-shirts, Baseball caps, literature, tech manuals, and two representatives for the all day event.
The cars produced at the "CustomOutlaws" Custom Build-Off were auctioned at our Childrens Hospital Charity Auction. 6 cars went for nearly $700.
Our membership money is completely used up, and more, to produce our Outlaws Packages, so sponsoring a board might be out of our reach for the moment, but it's certainly something to think about.

This years "CustomOutlaws" cars will consist of the 1/24 COE that is pictured in one of my topics here. Each member will receive his with his name or alias appearing on the back of the cab where you see mine,(CadillacPat).
A "Gold Plated TailDragger, that might be replaced with a fully Customized TailDragger if Gold continues to climb.
A Fit to order T-Shirt printed with multiple colors on front and back.
All cars are produced by me in my shop.

However,I have held "CustomOutlaws" Contests on other boards and given away one of a kind Customs, so perhaps with permission we could try that.

Again, The "CustomOutlaws" consists of members from all over the place.
We've created a network for assisting each other with finding castings, parts, and information.
We also have a "House Of Kolor Co-Op" where I buy HOK products in bulk and piece them out in smaller amounts at cost.
We've doubled in membership since last year.

Thanks for the interest and allowing me to be vocal about our group.

I've got some catching up to do, but I certainly like the idea of your group.

Seems the money is well spent, and I may do it later.

I'm in kentucky, the distance to a covention in texas would certinly be too far to drive, but there are cheap airlines now. :)

For the time being, feel free to promote your group here, in the customs board... As a member, and enthuisist {sp} Just be considerate to the fact that there is no sponsor, and if a sponsor is found they may not allow it.

I would encourage discussion of the group, and if someone asks specifics, send them to your web page. That way your not asking for money in the forum, something that may be frowned upon by some.

thanks for introducing us to Custom Outlaws,

Thanks for the comments Kenny,
Always willing to talk about the "CustomOutlaws"

Please be assured that I never ask for memberships in any topic on any board.
We've never had to sell a single membership.
Our group has grown from concept by word of mouth, bringing in those who are most enthusiastic about Cars, Customs, Collecting diecast, and networking with others of similar persuasions.

I do like to post everything I make, and where it's allowed, a link to our website.

Thanks again,

Pat
