dave w 1 05-03-2006, 05:26 PM Hi quick ? what do you like abought your current battery supplier? and what do you think they could do to improve ther company? besides free batts thanks! 98Ron 05-03-2006, 05:36 PM I would like to run the same type of cells for the next 3 years. Hate having to buy new batteries just to keep up with the jones. Battery of the month club. Sort of like it was back with the 2000's and the 3300. I know this is not the value added suppliers but the MFG's(that is a 4 letter word). I understand that the mfg's must push forward with technology, but why in must we use them in RC. Here in fla, several tracks and series limit us to IB3800 or less. But you know the IP3800 and whoevers 4200 are on the market. If I travel outside of FL to race, what will I be racing against, who knows, I know the Henderson race in August, IP3800 will be allowed, will there be an edge if running IP's I don't know. Would hate to buy batteries just to run one race, then not be able to run them here in FL. Porksalot4L 05-03-2006, 06:01 PM great packs at the best price is what i want. A1 customer service is always a plus. what does everyone else think? Matt Nothstein 05-03-2006, 06:21 PM Very helpful and informative on the latest and greatest way on taking care of your batteries. The matching methods. It doesnt take much to ask a question about how you charge your pack and how you condition them. I admit, I do not ask many questions on how to do this or that with batteries, but when I would like some info, I would simply email or call my matcher on the reason why. Many of you know Mr. Salvas is that guy, any type of matcher of that matter but my point is this, The packs are great, the people are great and the price is great. Matt Nothstein TQ Cells dave w 1 05-03-2006, 06:36 PM Thanks Guys Keep It Coming Please Im Taking Notes! JOHN B 05-03-2006, 06:49 PM someone who answers the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks EA dave w 1 05-03-2006, 06:50 PM Congrats On Your Move John Good Luck! dave w 1 05-03-2006, 06:51 PM Do You Think A Battery Company Is Good Because They Sponser Alot Of Guys Or Because The Product Works And Someone Is Always Able To Answer The Phone? JOHN B 05-03-2006, 06:55 PM Congrats On Your Move John Good Luck! thanks Dave i think both someone who is able to take time to answers calls and also be able to deliver a competetive product dave w 1 05-03-2006, 07:03 PM How Abought Price Whats To Much To Pay For A Killer Pack Of Ib 3800 S Shipped? JBRCells 05-03-2006, 07:04 PM Well this is a great topic...Im gonna post here as a racer not a matcher....As a racer I want to buy packs that are consistent and Inline with what they say they are on the labels..I want to buy 4 packs and get 4 good ones every time...If I have a problem with a cell in a pack I want to be able to send the pack to my matcher and have him fix it up.... davepull 05-03-2006, 07:48 PM Hi quick ? what do you like abought your current battery supplier? and what do you think they could do to improve ther company? besides free batts thanks! Hey TQ Cells are awesome. I like the numbers and Steve is such a nice guy to deal with. the only thing he could do to improve would be move to florida. lol omnis85 05-03-2006, 08:30 PM although many people dont deal with powerpush, I chose this matcher based on how I was treated and the packs I get are top notch. I was accepted from another matcher but never got anything from them because I chose not to. There is many good companys out there, matchers, motor tunners, etc etc. Whatever works for you and how you get treated is very very important obviously. Afterall this is a hobby and we spend alot of money on our "toys", we should get good service and products. rccarpy 05-03-2006, 08:39 PM Hey TQ Cells are awesome. I like the numbers and Steve is such a nice guy to deal with. the only thing he could do to improve would be move to florida. lol Thats the truth!! Steve is the most informantive battery person out there, he goes out of his way to keep his drivers in touch with whats new and whats going on.Not to mention he is always testing diff. methods and likes the input we as his drivers give him.He doesnt keep to many secrets, he wants his products up in the "A" main as much as you do. Bottom line, the price, the service, the quality, and the performance all in one place=====www.tqcells.com!_________  Jeff jonnycash 05-03-2006, 11:16 PM although many people dont deal with powerpush, I chose this matcher based on how I was treated and the packs I get are top notch. Matt Nothstein 05-04-2006, 08:51 PM Voodoo juice:mad: Porksalot4L 05-04-2006, 09:19 PM things are gonna start looking very interesting as far as battery's go.... hey Dave, Ernest Provetti called me tonight and sounded pretty nervious. i wonder how long it will take Trinity to step on your toes this time? this time around use your ninja skils to sneak up for the kill :) dave w 1 05-05-2006, 07:48 AM thanks guys ! lol Fasthobbys1 05-05-2006, 08:29 AM I would have to agree with what JBR cells said that I want to buy packs over the counter that are ALL good packs and can compete with these "sponsored" drivers and Justin is doing that so THANK YOU for helping out the common folk that usually spend more money then the sponsorded guys to get less equipment But not any More thanks to JBR cells Bud  c barsalow 05-05-2006, 03:39 PM I would like the sponsored drivers to show how good they really are by running batteries with less voltage than the sponsor will sell the average racer. Unheard of I know, but you asked. :) erock1331 05-05-2006, 03:58 PM Match enough cells to get a good matched pack. Slider 05-05-2006, 04:08 PM If I call up and request some killer packs. Don't say we will make sure you get one killer pack. I want just as good of packs to practice with, as i do in a race. dave w 1 05-05-2006, 04:10 PM If I call up and request some killer packs. SLIDER I KNOW HOW YOU FELL I LIKE GETTING ALL THE SAME TOO THANKS ! huffrcman 05-05-2006, 06:49 PM To put the worst cell in the window of the box and not the best. dave w 1 05-05-2006, 08:33 PM To put the worst cell in the window of the box and not the best. wow i never thought abought that but thanks! EAMotorsports 05-05-2006, 08:48 PM To put the worst cell in the window of the box and not the best. Already done!! It takes a few more seconds but worth it to me. These are all good ideas....Thanks Dave for starting this thread....I am taking notes too!! Seems the one on RCtech has taken a crap and is all talk about Lipos now!! EA huffrcman 05-05-2006, 08:53 PM I won't say who's batteries they were but I was very disapointed after openning the package. mredzadventure 05-05-2006, 09:12 PM I would have to agree with what everyone is saying. I know it's important to win races and to have a team of drivers promoting your products but the averge Joe racer is the guy you need to buy your products. What a better way to promote your product then have evryone at the track running your battries. I don't mind paying for good products. I don't like buying them over and over. I would like to see batteries last a whole racing season. Customer support is a must If I have a problem I want to talk to a person. I think a small battery company could do good job of keeping racers happy. Fair price, great value, superb quality, couple that with the latest technology and you've got my dollars. dave w 1 05-05-2006, 09:26 PM Already done!! Seems the one on RCtech has taken a crap and is all talk about Lipos now!! EA thanks eric as always your the man ! i would like to thank all the guys chiming in here and keep the ideas coming we are going to see some major change soon and im glad to be a part of it thank you! dave w 1 05-05-2006, 09:32 PM well i cant waite to talk to you guys face to face at the races i love this hobby yes thats love and i cant waite to get my product in all of your hands i hope no i know il be there to exceed your expectations ! thanks! EAMotorsports 05-05-2006, 10:17 PM I don't mind paying for good products. I don't like buying them over and over. I would like to see batteries last a whole racing season. With the newest IB cells coming out I am still running the cells I used at the Snowbirds in Feb. While thats not a whole season it is a pretty long while compared to some cells we have had to race in the past. If treated properly the newest IB cells (Since the first of the year) should last several months. The only thing that outdates them is the newest stuff that is so high in voltage when compared to 5 months ago. But I do not see IB getting the 3800 much better than it is now....They are pretty much concentrating on the 4200 cell only for the worlds, IIC race in Vegas, Cleveland and a few other big on road races. EA bs motors 05-05-2006, 10:18 PM hey has anyone tried raceday rc batteries? i have 68 cycles on 6 four cell packs and i have still been running hard with them. set a new track record a couple of weeks ago. brian mr_meat68 05-06-2006, 01:19 AM good luck dave, i've known you long enough to know that you're the guy that batteried up again ;) i can't wait to try em out. Dale 05-06-2006, 08:01 AM Hey guys, I believe when Dave gets his cells going we will all finally get excellent cells, excellent prices, and excellent customer service! Dave is a racer and knows what racers want and need. He is always ready and willing to help you out if needed. A perfect example is this thread, He is asking what we the racers want and need from a battery company, not just why we should buy his cells. I for one can't wait to get my hands on some new voodoo cells, way to go Mr. Wert!! Dale 05-06-2006, 08:10 AM Dave, why don't you give everyone on hobbytalk a breif history on your involvement in the industry? This will let them know where you are coming from and where you are going with this venture!! dave w 1 05-06-2006, 09:11 AM Dave, why don't you give everyone on hobbytalk a breif history on your involvement in the industry? This will let them know where you are coming from and where you are going with this venture!! Thanks dale and mr meat! Voodoo started back in 88 with one lavco machine and 200 1200 scr cell and 200 sce cells id sell some cells locally and when i decided that the current lavco setup was to COSTLEY SP? to upgrade along cam ce to save the day . bought several matchers and boom we were off to the races!. one of our first racers was a little guy named todd putnam. todd won several races for us . Well it started to grow and grow untill distrubutors started calling as well as mailorder houses! I thing are major turning point was in 92 when we got dave pulfer ricky jordon and david davis as well as a bunch of guys from the whip running are stuff ! In 1993 we won the us ovalmasters championship in the enduro as well as placing 7 or 8 im getting older now hard to rememberin the stock a main with a gentelman named ray barker on the pole. we also won the roar nats and the norrca nats the same year ! as well as tq ing and placing 8 out of 10 in the a main at the k&n winter blast! I met my wife started a family and my son loves r/c cars and after the last year or so of seeing how the market has changed and after my son looked at a old voodoo pack and said dad you should do this again i said ya know son i thing your right! so with that i would love to take this oppertunity to say thank you thank you thank you and stay tuned to hobby talk for thurther details on the return of VOODOO RACING CELLS! Anchor2 05-06-2006, 09:45 AM Dave, I remember the battles at Plainville CT, when Rich R. was running for you. Anchor2 05-06-2006, 10:58 AM THANKS YEP RICH ROY was and still is the man that guy could drive!!!!!!! also that kid erin rand was not to shabby either! Anchor  dave w 1 05-06-2006, 11:11 AM are launch date is antisapated june 1st at the latest ! thanks again for your interest!!!! have a great weekend! waiting on packaging wright now and final artwork decision again thanks! jblackburn 05-06-2006, 11:53 AM I would like to see the cells that are the top 2% actually be the top 2%. I would imagine that when matching batteries you get some sort of bell curve. I want to know what section of the curve I am buying. It want to see what the numbers are before I buy them - even online. I don't want to buy a "team pack" that is 470+ when 90% of the all the cells are over 480. Discharge graphs of the cells would also be cool - if you could select them online and them have them graphed and compare. Even better if you could look at every cycle of every cell. Good luck Dave. I remember Voodoo cells - and they were great. dave w 1 05-06-2006, 12:05 PM I would like to see the cells that are the top 2% actually be the top 2%. THANKS FOR THE KIND WORD S i like that idea alot!! keep them coming!  bsracing8 05-06-2006, 06:08 PM Glad to see you back in the batt busines!!! now i know what batts i am going to buy!!! Brandon dave w 1 05-06-2006, 07:46 PM Thanks Brandon Welcome Aboard ! bojo 05-07-2006, 06:04 AM I like service and true numbers and I get that from TQ cells Raceman 05-07-2006, 08:52 AM Frankly I don't care much for higher or lower numbers. I never use any fuzzy-wuzzy tricks to squeeze a few more seconds or more Amp out of batts then having to rapidly replace them because of bad use. What I'd really want from any company - racing/sport/spec pack - is to deliver some product tested way enough that will not leave us fool. Also some solid info about proper maintenance. There again no Trick Of the Week junk. Of course top-notch service and contact is a plus. Basically I've use brands like SMC, TQ cells and Pole Position. Except for the 3000s era, never had a bad comment to say. Stephane Courchesne vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
