Picked this up on the Bay, thought it was cool with the sticker, but what is it?

A Mattel Johnny Lightning?
A Topper Hotwheels?

I can't decide.

The seller had some others that a young customizer did years ago. I believe Modsquad was bidding on one too. I'm bringing this bad boy to fest to race, If Bobby will let me.....

it's a Topper JL,... Al Unser,Parnelli Jones or AJ Foyt.

Most likley an Al Unser, because of the lightning stickers on the hood..

the HW sticker does not belong there,a kid must stuck it on.

nice car,great shape!

I know what it is, just having some fun, it's a Parnelli Jones model. I just think the HWs logo is funny, I do have a strange sense of humor.....

For the record, they put Lightning bolt stickers on all of the Indy cars (Unser, Foytt and Jones).
Blue is the most common color, then purple.
Harder colors are orange, red, magenta, antifreeze, gold.
Almost impossible to find is the char-blue/grey.
Some came with a white spoiler (tough to find).
The holy grail for these is the Unser casting with the words "Winner" on the base or any one of the 3 versions with a blank base (which begs how would you know which version is which if the base is blank?).

We'll do that on another episode...

I haven't tested it yet but I've got a couple old Toppers that seem to roll way better than any new JL or HW that I have.

And mod's knowledge on these things always amazes me...

This kid, prob put the hot wheels sticker on his JL to Fit in to the Group or be cool. The kid prob was also a owner of Champion set, also know as the "Kid who had no friends Track, or the Lonely Racer Trackset" :)

Cool Car, it needs to race so it can blow off those HW Stickers and be able to hang out with its other Topper Diecast!
