Anyone else out there suffer from sinus/allergy problems? I usually get one sinus infection once a year around this time. But this year it's a real bugger. Had this darn thing pretty bad for 3 weeks now. Doc changed my antibiotic for the third time today. Been home sick for 2 out of the last 3 weeks. Only been out "hunting" twice over the last 3 weeks :( Had 4 vials of blood drawn today for testing and am scheduled for a CT scan on my sinuses next week. This bug just won't go away! Seems like for alot of people the viruses/bacteria get stronger every year and the antibiotics are less effective

I have allergies from the beginning of April, to the middle of June... every year.
But I take zyrtec and rhinocort, so I suffer no longer. But if I don't take the meds, I'm miserable.

I have been for about 4-5 years now. I had sinus surgery 2 years ago and it completely stopped for about 6 months. Before the surgery I took zyrtec, rhinocort and they seemed to help just a little .After the surgery and the problems came back I took zyrtec for about 2 months but have stopped taking them it completly because I was tired of wasting my money on something that only weakens your immune system. It hasn`t got any worse but hopefully my body will deal with it better. I have serious sinus pressure and problems year round and it even gets worse in march-may. Everyone I know that has had these problems have only gotten worse since taking medicine and they continue to take them.

Astelin twice a day, Clarinex once a day and shots twice a week, never had problems until I moved to Kentucky. I actually had a Dr. tell me I needed to move to Arizona....

My biggest allergy is to tree pollens, blooming things in general, or as I say, "I'm allergic to spring!" Which is a shame because I like this time of the year - it just doesn't like me. I also have minor allergies to ragweed, cats, soybeans, peanuts, etc. but tree pollen time is the one that really gets me.

I can survive on medicine, but I hate how I feel all doped up for 6 - 8 weeks a year. It was much worse when I lived in North Carolina - the whole state is nothing but blooming stuff!

they told me I`m allergic to dust.molds, all trees, grass, and severly allergic to cats. They said I really needed the shots. If they work or not pm me with how it works out. I`m allergic to needles :freak:

But the dust and mold are year round ones, that I cant shake

I went thru the horrible injections/skin testing,in the arms and back,to see what I was actually allergic to :( about 4 years ago now...
IM glad I know, but whew............. They gacve me a printout of everything I was allergic to..

I took the desensitization shots for asthma during my teenage years - they worked, and I quickly got over my fear of needles, but the medicine wasn't cheap. It has to be mixed specifically for your own combination of allergies.

For the last twenty years I've had very bad hayfever/allergies for about seven or eight months out of each and every year (pollen in spring, mold in autumn) But about two years ago my doctor prescribed FLONASE - and it's amazing.

I can't say enough good things about the Flonase - I finally have my life back, and I can breathe clearly all year round. I also take a daily claritin (in generic over-the-counter Loratidine form) to help keep me clear - but in the years before the Flonase, the Claritin wasn't able to do the whole job by itself.

There are a few of these prescription nasal mists available. See what your doctor says about each one. I lucked out in that the first one that my doc prescribed for me works so great.

Considering the annual hell I went through for so long, I have no doubt that Flonase is the best invention of my entire adult life.

"Not only would I do a commercial for them, I'd do it for free!"*

Gadzooks N' Egads!!!!

I'm highly allergic to anything green and thats a plant . . . I don't
do well with mold either. When I got my skin reaction test results
most of them were fours and fives for most plants and trees:

Cottonwoods, Olive, and Mulberry Trees, Olianders, Highbred Bermuda
Grass, etc., etc., etc. . . . . .

I've been on thee shot program for years . . . I go once every two
weeks to get my shots. I used to get sinusitus regularly, but ever
since I've been on the shot program I haven't had this problem.

The only thing I'm really thankful for is that I don' t have any food
allergies!!!
