Scotts mower Magna Torque model OVRM120 no spark to plug why? Has a sepearte coil next to mag on flywheel so assume electronic ignition. How do I check the seperate coil and small black capacitor out with OHM meter? Both coils seem to have continuity- no open circuits. Has green wire and a red wire going under flywheel. Tried putting 12 v to batteries and starter turns but no spark pull starting too. Help Bugman our hero.

Hmm, not familar with that type...., how are you testing the spark? Try it without the kill wire...

I took plug out- install new plug in boot -held to head no spark jumps. Which one is the kill wire the green one that goes under the flywheel? If I pull the flywheel is there a ignition module under there? Where can I find a parts manual or TEC. engine diagnostic test procedure chart? Thanks again.

I fixed it found manual on line thanks. Bad ignition module and shut off cable did not pull far enough to keep green wire in off position. Good trick to keep from replacing shut down cable. Disconnect at engine end and put L shaped cable lock tab in the hole wrong- take slack out of streatched cable-just put link in all the way so it binds up when pulled. The L shaped tags have 2 steps on them to adjust for slack when you try it.
