Ok, heres the deal.

This engine has been sitting for 10 years about

I dont know who makes it, but I know its a snow blower engine. (its mounted on a go-cart)

I have spark

Its getting gas

When its turned over, the carb sparys out a little gas (it looks like a little puff)

Thats all I can think of now, but it ran when parked. I'm sure the carb needs to be cleaned. So any ideas on what I should do to get it running? I only have limited knewlegde of fixing engines, but i know a thing or two about the basics. thanks in advance

What make engine? Make sure it has engine oil. Check the condition of the air filter (at least if it still has one). After that you could try starting it to see if it runs. If it runs you might want to do a tune-up on it, change spark plug & air filter, oil, fuel filter if applicable.

I have no idea who makes this engine. I will look if there is a stamp or something. I'm planning to pull the engine off and rebuild it (done that once before with a small engine) I pulled the head off and it has tons of burnt on grim which i'll probally need to take care of huh. As for the oil, i'm just going to drain it, but is there anyway to find how much it needs beside draining the old oil and measuring it...that might not be totally accurite. And, there is no air filter :) i'll need to do something about that too

Its probablly a tecumseh...., yes change the oil, get a airfilter... But after ten years the carb needs a rebuild, tear it apart, get a rebuild kit and soak it overnight in carb cleaner, then blow it out with compressed air.
