I can not find any info on the discharge ratings of these new packs on their website. I bought a pack from Max Amps and I want to compare what they are. Any help would be appreciated.

View Full Version : Discharge specs for the Orion and Peak 4800? NitroStar 04-26-2006, 07:08 AM I can not find any info on the discharge ratings of these new packs on their website. I bought a pack from Max Amps and I want to compare what they are. Any help would be appreciated. Scoob 04-26-2006, 06:40 PM They are 72 amps continuous, 144 amp burst/ 10 seconds. So they are 15C packs, but being able to handle 30C bursts is pretty impressive. NitroStar 04-26-2006, 09:57 PM Why are they rated more than the 6000 packs from Max Amps? Anyway.... would the 6000 mah packs from Max Amps (60 amps continuous discharge) be able to handle a Sphere/Neo One combo in a stadium truck or a B4 buggy with a 6.5 Novak motor? Not much amp info on their web site. Scoob 04-27-2006, 06:33 AM Double post, sorry. Scoob 04-27-2006, 06:38 AM I run the 6.5 and I am going to say that the MA 6000 would handle it fine. I am not claiming to be an expert but I would use it with the 6.5 without much concern but no hotter motor than that. Neo 1, 2 or 3 star, Novak 6.5,7.5, 5800, or 4300. I personally would not use it with the 4 star or the 5.5 and certainly not the 4.5 :) . I have heard of someone using it with the 5.5 without problems though  The Orion is rated higher because the cells are 15C ( can handle 15 times thier rated capacity in amps, 4800 mah = 4.8 amps times 15= 72. The Maxamps 6000s are 10C cells ( 6 times 10 = 60), which is why they are so cheap. 10C is fine if there is plenty of capacity to draw from. I got the info on the Orion off Towerhobbies site by the way. NitroStar 04-27-2006, 10:39 PM Thanks a bunch. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
