Hi, I have an old 10 horse briggs im not getting spark. Its an 79 so its got points and condensor, I dont want to mess with all that so im just going to upgrade it to electronic ignition. Im confused on what exact parts I need though. when ordering i get parts around 15 or so bux to 45. I dont know what to get.
Do I use the stock coil and put a magnetron kit on it, or do I get a new electronic type coil or what.
Btw, I have another 10 hp briggs, a new 81+ with electronic ignition on it but its vertical shaft, not horizontal like the other one. If it fits, can i put the flywheel on and put the coil on to? Since the other coil wont match the polarity of the older engines flywheel.
Thanks.
Exact part numbers would be appreciated.

BUt just curious, why were some parts stores listing the part i needed as 15 dollars and some 45? Was one a coil and one a conversion kit or somthing?
